Topaz is gorgeous. Why is Dandy naked? Just learning here, so was wondering. They are dolls. wub.gif

The best I can figure is I am his 5th home at least. He is not banded but thats how far back we could trace him. He has been plucked since the last three of those. So all we can do is guess as to why and when the plucking started but we think he was a pet. And the plucking started and someone told them "Oh he needs a mate" So then he was passed around cause he hates all birds and had no clue.
However this is just speculation. I have had him vet checked for the plucking the vet says he is well "ready for the rubber room." It was a joke. But anyway he was on birdy Prozac for a while and now he has this toy if I take it the plucking starts again. Its one of those round things with cloth all over it.
The plucking has pretty much stopped except sometimes in the early spring and his feathers will never grow back. I think whatever the mental problem with him also keeps him from talking.
Sorry so long winded but sometimes I feel so guilty that I can't do more for him and sometimes I find myself justifying him. Does that make since?

Since he is stuck with me and my flaws I figure the least I can do is except his. laugh.gif And I promised him many years ago that this was his forever home.

You are his angel! Not to get too poetic, but I see more beauty in Dandy and your love for him than if he were fully feathered and talked like my aunt Phyllis. (She's a talker!) You've got great birds. Your little blue is sooooo sweet! smile.gif

I own a plucker, and while she's not naked, it still breaks my heart. I don't think that feeling of not being able to do enough ever goes away or stops. You're always thinking that you should be able to fix it. But some birds just develop a bad habit of it.

Anyways, they are both beautiful wub.gif
