Well, I decided Wilbur needed a friend. We were off to a rough start, but are getting along better each day.

I had to put up a divider in their shelter because Wilbur was being very territorial about it..

But most of the time Wilbur still insists on squeezing himself into whichever side Truck is on rolleyes.gif

Here is a pic of mister Truck enjoying a yummy orange wub.gif

Seeing the divider, if anyone has suggestions for a more permanent solution I would love to hear them. The carboard is a joke rolleyes.gif I basically have to reconstruct it every day...

omgosh he's cute!!!! wub.gif And looks soooo soft smile.gif

Can you use an plastic tuperware lid? Would that work?
Joanne's Animal Kingdom
maybe you can get a piece of leftover plexiglass from the hardware store to use as a divider.

I am not sure how big you need it but a lot of the children's plates they sell in the baby sections are square - you may be able to use that.

cute little fur balls. can't have those here too many cats and dogs staring at the poor things would make them neurotic.
Tara Rose
They actually pretty much ignore my cats, although my cats pretty much ignore them too laugh.gif I'm trying to build into their cage, it's kind of small for them right now...

Truck is more of a talker than Wilbur, too. I would get a couple soft wheeks out of him if he thought food was involved, but Truck SQUEAAAALS whenever he hears a plastic bag or I come home from work laugh.gif He is a total drama queen...

Awwww they are adorable!!! Truck and Wilbur are both just as cute as can be.

Well... lots of suggestions I can give- firstly go check out here and it's host site here. (There's a forum, too, but they can get a little rabid, so read around a bit before posting there to get a feel for their views. Good group but very opinionated. rolleyes.gif )

Immediate changes- they need wood/cardboard to chew up. Like you mentioned, a piece like that will be gone in a day. So instead, you should get a couple of hides. Usually one/pig, though they may share. Also check out the two sites for vegetable feeding recommendations and how to build you own bigger cage for real cheap. It looks like you have them in a larger but still not big enough pet store cage.

Great on getting him a buddy! (I assume you made sure they are both males). laugh.gif

Congratulations Tara!

Congrats Tara! smile.gif They are sooooo cute! wub.gif I miss my piggies! sad.gif Now I want another one! laugh.gif I just love their little squeaks! wub.gif

Congrats, hopefully they will get used to each other (looks like they already have in the picture where they are sleeping together!) and you won't need the divider! biggrin.gif

Awwww~! They are so cute~!!! wub.gif
GeorgiaOnMyMind
They are such cuties. Oh my, you are making me want more pets missy!

But you know, I might just leave the cardboard. Yeah, you have to reconstruct it... but it's something for them to chew everyday and its so cheap!
Tara Rose
Yes, they are DEFINITELY both males! laugh.gif With the way I've heard these guys reproduce (females can become prenant at the age of 3 weeks and then 12 hours after giving birth! blink.gif ), I definitely made sure I had a same sex pair.

You're right about the cage being too small...it is approx 40x24x36, but it was a last minute purchase when I got Wilbur and I just havent had the time or money to upgrade. I have been looking into those C&C cages and it looks like it would be pretty easy to build on to. Thankfully they are getting along MUCH better this weekend, however mister Truck brought mites in (kicking myself for not quarentining!!! dry.gif ). Thankfully mites are easy to treat and we've got them pretty much under control. As for the fresh foods aspect..they definitely get plenty of that laugh.gif This morning they had a nice breakfast of romain and butter lettuce, watermelon and orange slices. They eat better than me most days! laugh.gif

LOL! laugh.gif I love guinea pigs! Great pics, Tara!
