The fawns are two seperate fawns. Not sure if they are siblings but only one mama caring for them so they are either twins or a mother died and this mother took over. That happens often with deer. Twins are not unheard of either.

The last shot is of the mom watching me making sure I am not going to get any closer to the one fawn that was still there. She was calling them back as I was taking her picture. I was about 10 feet from them 15 at the most.

Great shots. Chances are they are both hers. If a doe is healthy it is very common for her to have twins . In fact quite likely .

I am not getting nekked just so you can see a bare! I have not yet been able to get a picture of the bear. Matter of fact, since the man that bought out most of the property around us, dozed it out, there has not been a reported siting of a bear or bob cat. We haven't even seen bob cat or mountain lion tracks in years now. I think we fought with DNR 7 years ago about a set of tracks I found that were Moutain lion. They said then there was not enough forrest for a mountain lion. Both Hubby and I saw the tacks first hand and know bob cat tracks and this was much larger then bob cat. We also heard it's cries one night.

I have a bunch of wild life I have taken in the past week. One rabbit, several of the squirrel, a few chipmunk, many bird. One of my favorites it my baby red bellied woodpecker. He/she is so young it has none of it's markings yet.

Wonderful pictures Cheryl! Your pics help me keep sane in Houston!

My Dad had a farm in Lovingston VA and he heard some real bear stories....one bear clawed the steering wheel apart in a road veichle trying to get some honey that was set in it temporarily! Whoa ohmy.gif

I lived there for a few years but never saw any bears but I sure did look but to no avail!

We have a family of pileated's that live on our 1 acre lot. I love to hear them knock and call to each other. It is so loud! Did you know that 90% of the knocking they do is to attract a mate?

Wonderful pictures! We have lots of birds and possums and a family of cute racoons right here in the city. But living where you can see the kind of wildlife you have must be great!

One thing about where we live that saddens me is that people are cutting down more and more of the forest and there is nothing we can do to stop it. This means we now see deer running on high traffic streets dodging cars where there should be tree's. It deeply saddens me! Lucky where I live there is still part of our land that has not been touched and will not be. If others come in a continue to doze around us, I will buy ten tree's a year and put them on my property even if it crowds out our yard just to give back to the wild life what they have given me. I would rather have no yard and wild life the a yard with out it.
