I'd known Ted for a couple of months before he moved in, so I got to experience his "vocal range" first-hand prior to the move. I'd have to agree with Carrie~Anne - Nandays ARE the loudest Conures!! He's better than having a guard dog, though. I definitely know when there is someone walking within
sight of my house, or if there is <eek> a
bug of any kind in the bird room.
Ted is only 2 years old, but he's not very socialized at all. He's afraid of hands and screeches like a baby if you come at him from above to pet his head! We've only been together for a week and a half, so we're still learning each others language. He's discovered that he really, really likes scritches though, so he's trying to be tolerant of me.
Glad to know that there are other Nanday owners here. I might need your advice as Teddy and I get to know each other.
