Hello, My name is Jenni. My boyfriend Kevin and my 2 sons and his one son. Have just became quaker parents. We are getting 3 baby quarkers they are 6 weeks today . We may get them at the end of this week. We can't wait. Kevin and I have seen them but the boys haven't. My 2 boys are going to Boy SCout camp. I may be able to pick them up before they come home from camp. kind of a surprize. :D

Wow!! Three Quakers?? All at the same time!! Good luck!! LOL Seriously, you are gonna have your hands full. smile.gif

Congrats on your new birdies!!! Quakers are awesome birds. Just make sure that once those birds are weaned that you keep them in separate cages. It will make sure that they bond with you and not with one another.

Pics when ya can please! smile.gif

Hi Jenni, welcome to our zoo! Wow, 3 new baby quakers at once...You're brave! LOL...I have to agree with Carrie~Anne, Keep them in separate cages so they bond with the humans, not the other birds. And I hope that you plan on being the main care giver, because that's how it will turn out.

I'm sure your boys will be surprised alright!

Hello Everyone,

Yes, We are planning on keeping them all in 3 different cages. I also plan on being the main care giver because I will be the one home with them the most of the time. We have some cages but i really like the one my boyfriend built for a congo african grey that we were to get. but sadly , that man or his broker was a farud and western union caught it before they got any of our money. The I think is very nice and I am begging for three little ones...lol... I will in the end get my way...lol. Here are some pics of that cage.

Welcome and lucky you! Start with 3 of them! You have a bad case of MBS (Multiple Bird Syndrome) for just starting your flock! That's one heck of a cage but which one gets it? Actually, being so little they each will need a smaller starter cage until they are coordinated enough for perching or is your boyfriend going to divide that one into three? Generally with younger ones when I get a cage I place most all of their toys and perches near the floor of the cage so they don't get hurt if they lose their balance and fall. I am so excited for you and can't wait to see some pictures of them! We love pictures here!!

Cool.... May I suggest even though you are going to be the main care giver you make sure your fids (feathered kids) get handled daily by everyone in the family so they become socialised and accept everyone in the household as flock members or you may have the fids biting those not accepted by them ..
Just a littl tip.. smile.gif how luck three little babies all at once, you must be so excited , great cage your b/f made I would be putting in and order for another two one for each.. tongue.gif the size will allow plenty of room for branches and toys ,my boys have a huge cage each 2ft wide 3ft long and 5ft high, you may wish to get them a small cage to start and then the small cages can be used for travel cages for vet trips or overnight stays sometime.. also Quakers in the wild sleep in nests so it is often reccomended you supply a happy hut or nesting box (to be used as a sleeping room)for your fid to snuggle in ...
Check out all the different forums you will come across members cages and set ups and plenty of other information that may be helpful.Don`t be shy jump right in everyone is friendly here, and we all love pictures so do post some of your fids when you get them ..any names picked yet ..??
once again CONGRATULATIONS and WELCOME to you and your flock..from me and my boys...
