Hi Everyone!

I am curious if anyone has any experience with Degu's. They are a member of the chinchilla family. I am doing some research online now. A friend who is a teacher ended up with them at the end of the school year and doesn't feel she is able to adequately care for the animals, as the students did all of the work. I told her I would be happy to help her find a home, but needed to learn more about the little guys in order to become educated ...

What better place to start than right here?

Any info is helpful.

Thanks! smile.gif

Awww... Degu's are sooo cute, especially the babies. Here's what i know of them. They come from Chile and yes they are member of the chinchilla and guinea pig family. For there diet your supposed to feed them 50% Guinea pig pellets and 50% chinchilla pellets. If that helps. I knew this lady when i used to live in Calgary, Alb that used to breed tons of them.

I bet their would be forums/mailing groups (like yahoo) that would have lots of people that could help you out.

Try Googling 'degu message board forum' and see what happens. smile.gif
