Nice tattoo Stella...I'm glad you shared it with us...Just curious to know how long did it take to complete...He certainly did a beautiful job.....I would think that it hurts too much to get a tattoo...Does it?....I guess it is according to how much pain you can take, huh?.

It only took him a few hours to do it. He made two pictures. This one and one with him wearing coveralls and a weed sticking out of his beak. I should have had that one done. It hurts but not real bad. I have nine of them.

Is it a jpeg? I found this forum doesn't like bmp or some other formats. I had a couple I couldn't post but saved as jpeg and retryed and it went through.

I know I teased Stella before about her tatoo in a few years...

SO I won't tease you again Stella.
But people have got to realize that after a certain age the skin starts to loose all elasticity...And the reason I say this is because, other people just shouldn't be subjected to seeing what I saw the other day on a woman... Oh my goodness...
There were two women out shopping and you could tell these gals were "biker chicks" (No offense to those of us women who enjoy riding motorcycles) It appeared as though both really enjoyed tanning in their younger years and both had been somewhat heavier at one time. Both had long straggley hair worn in a braid Both had on very thin, very narrow strapped tank tops and neither were wearing bra's, Both had multiple tattoos and both had very elongated tattoos that may at one time been very nice looking But what you could see above the neckline of the tank and what you could see below the neckline of the tank top that tended to sag clear to the belt, was NOT a pretty sight.
One of them had tatts on her upper arm that snaked around to the back on her tricep and when she raised her arm the part that keeps on waving after your hand has stopped was showing what I think was the back tire of a motorcycle that looked like it had been flat for quite a long time....
Remember Silly Putty and what images placed on it looked like when you stretched it.

So becareful where you have your tatts placed and think about what its gonna look like in 20 or 30 years....

That is too awesome. I should take in a picture of all the birds I have had in my rescue for over a year. (short term birds would put me over 500 tat's) LOL Long term would be Buddy, Booger, Boo, Ricky, Lucy, Daisy, Paulie and Peanut. Nah, don't have enought Chest MUSCLES for that-maybe just each of my Yorkies. OMG that would be so cool.

Yes we know what our skin will look like in a few or many years!! We get tattoos because we want them. Not sure what your description of a biker chick is? Someone with tattoos I hope not!

No actually I don't consider women with tatts as "biker chicks" I don't consider all women who ride motorcycles "biker chicks" whether they have tattoos or not; I happen to be a motorcycle enthusist myself. But Tattoos aren't my gig. If a person wants them great...All I'm saying is just because a person has them doesn't mean one needs to flaunt them in the manner these gals were... And hopefully most people will realize when the time comes that cute little rose bud becomes a long stemmed rose its time to cover it up at least out in public.

I've never been a fan of the tattoos above the coin slot for this reason... they look REALLY REALLY bad after a few years or having a baby. However I have always loved tattoos on people's calfs. I think they are very pretty and practical because they don't tend to stretch out, you can cover them up for work if you need to and it's a nice smooth area to work with. Captain's birdsitter has a HUGE blue and gold macaw tattoo on her calf and it was just so well done and colourful, I love it.
My best friend got a phoenix tattoo on her back and she really likes it but I think she sometimes regrets the location because it really affects what clothing she is able to wear at work.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one that sees the braless people in tiny tank tops with saggy-ness going on. This one worked at the filthy little coffee joint across from our work (seriously, the place is dirrrrtyyyyy) and she worked every day in a spaghetti strap tank top with no bra and she also enjoyed far too much tanning. Sometimes it's just a matter of respecting the fact that some clothing is just not age appropriate or work appropriate.
I'm too chicken to ever get a tattoo...
Trixie

I LOVE the quaker tattoo!!!
I got my first tattoo last year. (I am 48) It is a bird on my ankle and that was long before I even considered owning a bird. (I say that lightly - I know SweetPea owns me) The tattoo is a very simple line drawing and I really love having it. Since it took so many years for me to decide what and where to tattoo, my next one will be just as thoughtfully pondered. Definately not in a sag-prone area! Too many things are already heading South...
