Hi there everyone!

My name is Miess and my Quaker is Jack.

First off I'd like to say Wow! What a great forum! I went into owning Jack knowing far too little, and now I can say I actually know a bit about him! I have so many questions to ask, and I'll try to put them in the right sections for everyone!

Jack's one and a half, a total character. He's been home for 2 days and already he thinks he owns the place (and everyone else who lives in it). He's taken to telling my Border Collie dog, Teddy, off everytime he comes inside.

I'm afraid the closest I've come to owning anything like jack before now was a budgie when I was alot younger, and he was my brother's not mine. So I've been thrown in the deep end a bit. I'm used to horses, who eat more, but need alot less attention.

I've only got the one photo of Jack at the moment, and it was taken on my phone camera, so it's a little blurry.

But that's my Jack sitting on his cage being cheeky.

He was next to the puppies in the pet store, so he yips and growls He also rings like a phone, unfortunantly he can't be answered yet, i'm hoping one day he'll stop when I say hello. Maybe I should find out what they say in the store when they answer the phone...

Welcome!! That's too funny, he sounds like a total hoot... but then again, what Quaker isn't?

I love that he rings like a phone. Of course, I don't have to live with him, so that could explain it, but I just love it!

Welcome! Glad to have you join us, don't want to repeat what's been said so I will just give you a warning. Beware of two things:

1. This forum is very addictive!
2. MBS (Multiple Bird Syndrome) once you have one you will need more! (Check out my signature if you don't believe me)

Birds (especially quakers IMHO) have so much personality it is amazing and will worm their way into your heart so fast you won't know what hit you!!
