I guess it is about time I should ask about this, but Petey has been making this strange chirping sound. He pretty much as been since we have had him..about 5 months. I notice him doing it when he is on his playpen if it is messy or when he gets himself in situations where he is stressing. For instance, one time he got too close to the computer monitor and he started making this noise. I can't really decribe it other then it really hurts my ears!! It isn't a scream. I KNOW his scream! It is just a really odd sound. I also notice him making it when he wants attention or the TV's too loud. Should I be concerned? Is this just a Petey thing? He will make this noise and then go right into talking or whistling. It is really confusing to me..LOL..He seems to be doing alright otherwise. No real changes, even with the new bird.Any help will be appreciated!

To me, this doesn't sound like something that should alarm you. Petey might be calling for attention (flock calling), or calling out in excitement. As long as he's not chirping or screaming because he's in pain or danger, then I would just chalk it up to Petey being Petey. smile.gif
