Marty was on pellets the first year of his life, then the pet store I got him from switched him to seed. He was on seed when I brought him home, but I've recently started feeding him a LOT more human food.
He still gets seed a few times a day, but I was wondering if anybody else did this?
For example, for dinner last night - Marty had a few little pieces of grilled chicken, corn, and a bit of stuffing. For breakfast this morning he had a few sips of apple juice, mustard greens, apple, grapes, strawberries, tomato, and bananna. He sits with me in the morning for breakfast, and with my husband and I for dinner at night.
He's still sick with whatever he has, so I'm trying to make sure he gets his fill of vitamins and minerals.

Any comments?

I think it's great that you are feeding him fresh foods!!! That is awesome.

You have to be careful with feeding *too* much fresh foods though. It can be extremely difficult to provide the nutrition a bird needs through a fresh food diet only.

So long as he is still eating his seed, then it should be fine. You might want to consider offering him some pellets and see if he tries them out.

I feed as much as mine well eat. With pasta, rice, and soaked beans. I give very little seed and pellets.
Go easy on the seed they are bad for him. Mine get seed more as a treat couple times a week. And only gets the pellets when I forget or dont get around to fixing the other stuff so about once or twice a week on that.
