I was just thinking maybe there sould be a selling/buying forum and a re homeing/adopting forum. The reason I say this is because I have noticed alot of times I have posted in these forums and alot of people say that they need to re home the parrot right away but then hey ask for alot of money to re home the parrot. I am one who likes to help parrots in need but I can not see my self paying almost retail price for a parrot that someone says needs to be re homed right away or has been neglected.

I feel that if the parrot was really in need for a better home and its parront cared for it, they whould be less worryed about the price tag they put on the parrot and more about getting proper care for their parrot. This is why i think there should be two seperate fourms for the parrots. one forum for the parrots who are really in need and need a good home, and another for the parrots who are looking to be SOLD.

This is just a thought no offense to anyone.

The purpose for the re-homing section is to find homes for parrots that belong to or are in the care of QP.com members regardless of whether or not there is a fee attached. Many rescues attach adoption fees and sometimes the fee attached to the re-homing is related to the accessories that are coming with the bird.

Also, many feel that attaching a price or adoption fee to the re-homing doesn't take away from the urgency of the situation however attracts only those truly interested in the welfare of the bird. Not to say this is always the case but many parrots offered for "free" don't necessarily go to the best homes simply because they were free ...

If someone feels the above criteria is being "violated" and that the person selling the bird is going to make a profit then the post should be reported to the moderators.

The purpose for the re-homing section is to find a home for a bird in need and we do not want to get into selling birds for profit. If there are posts in this section that members feel are posted to sell for "profit" versus "rehome in need" or "rescue" then please report that post and mods will take a look at it. Keeping in mind that reasonable adoption fees are allowed.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that you don't want to get into buying and selling. I am also very Familiar with adoption fees and donations because i work with a bird rescue in Maryland. The reason for this post is for the parrots in need.

Ohh I believe I understand your thought process I just think that all rehomes are in need even if the owner is asking for a reasonable fee.

Should members feel that the fee is unreasonable then the post should be reported as selling for profit is not the intent of the forum.

thats true some people are going through some financial situations and they have to re home the birds a friend of mine went through this I helped her a bunch. She is doing alittle better than before,... and she still gets to see her buddy from time to time.
