Catfish
Okay just finished the playstand. It was too late to get the fids out, but oh well. It's a mix of perches for both my quaker and my parrotlet. smile.gif

The kitty in the picture is my Catfish. He was trying to help all night long.

I used dowel rods to construct this thing. I then took hemp and wrapped it around the center rod to keep the fids from finding the screws, plus it allows the parrotlet something to climb up and down on.

There is a basket that will contain milet spray, a cup to contain their pellets, and a cup to contain nutra berries.

I tried to make it fun for them... the only thing I regret is that the tray at the bottom is not quite large enough, but I'm not going to change it because it will take care of most of the mess. biggrin.gif

Nice work, looks good! Must be the weekend for playstands, I just finished mine too.
I kind of wish I had a base, but instead, I bought some of that clear vinyl floor runner that is smooth on top. It seems like it will be an easy clean up but I might be surprised!

That construction is very neat and I know birdies will enjoy using that...Let us know their reaction when you introduce them to it.... biggrin.gif
Bye the way---the names of your cats just crack me up and at the same time very unusual and cute and snappy....

Catfish
Well General was afraid of it at first.... after the initial Oh my gosh what is this, (s)he began to crawl all over and rested at the top to groom his/her feathers....(s)he doesn't really play much with toys in general.....just seems to prefer to watch and get head scritches.

My parrotlet Gelato was all OVER the thing... up and down in the basket, on the swing, in the net,in the cups... you name it and he was in it.

Craby was cool with it at first, (s)he was crawling on the perches and eating the treats... seemed to enjoy climbing up and down and playing with a couple of the toys... then (s)he got bored jumped down and ran across the floor to my feet, climbed up the couch and rested on my arm. Craby is bonding to me and becoming very affectionate. . . Craby just doesn't like the white towel I used to get him/her out of the cage since (s)he is very territorial atm. Craby ran over to the towel, grabbed it with his/her beak and shook it while grumbling. It was so freaking cute~

BTW Catfish was named by my first boss because his head is oddly shaped and looks like a catfish's head. Eggroll is named because of his color and in order to get him to nurse from the bottle I would wrap him in a towel to where only his head was visable. Duck sauce is named that because as a kitten he would follow me around like a duckling, so since I have the food theme going on... the only thing I could think of was duck sauce. I like distinct names that most people wouldn't use.
