My Boyfriend fininshed the play gym I helped paint the parts ( we used cake icing dye - that he had left over from when he used to decorate cakes)

he even made the Sleep hut BY HIS SELF!! I got one Crafty man I think LOL

I picked out the design though It was between this one and a camo one LOL

they're actually Bandanas we got at our local Hobby Lobby craft store for .88 cents, the base is a plastic canvas (.29 cents) and then there is a plan red bandana around it then we went to big lots and i bought a Fleece Blanket ( i couldnt find any fleece at the craft store) got the entire blanket for $4 bucks ( I'm thinking of using the rest to make pillow cases LOL )

the main structer is staying plain, but i havent decided yet if i'm going to paint the toy in the back or not yet ( the one that looks like a witches hat you used to see on play grounds for kids)

the base is shower board and a cpl pieces of heavier boards to keep it sturdy

we even cut some of the shower board to fit under thier cages to catch thier messes so it doesnt go all over the carpet ( that was my idea) lol

so here is our finished ( or semi finished if i make up my mind any time soon lol) Project

Far away View of the entire thing

Second View a little closer

laugh.gif Well I hesitate to call you redneck....but I don't know your name....

Anyway, I would like to commend you both on a beautiful job well done...Everything looks just great....However I would like to make one suggestion on your sleep hut...

If you want to keep the bottom on the inside clean, get you some stiff cardboard and cut it the size of the bottom of the hut....Then get you some cheap washcloths from the dollar store and cut and sew them up on three sides, leaving one side to slip the cardboard in and you can change it out when it gets pooped on....And then wash and put back on....Does birdie use his sleep hut now?

I have several huts for Harley and have the cardboard with the wash cloths...Just make sure you make the washcloth just a little bigger than the cardboard so it won't be hard to slip the cardboard in...

If you have any questions, just let me know....

Luvmyharley - U can call me redneck biggrin.gif i'm used to it ( i use yahoo messenger and go into chats and practically all my names have redneck in it some where it's who i am smile.gif born and bred country the dirtier i am the happier i am BUT i clean up pretty darn good LOL

also thanks for the suggestions, Billy hasn't used it yet, I think he's scared of it

But we did get my Budgie to sit in it for a min. just to try it out

my b/f did change how it is hanging on there now, it's more stable now wink.gif

went to Foster and Smith website and saw how they had thiers made and saw what we needed to do to make it more stable and he got right up and did it

NOW if i could get him that excited over helping around the house I'd be in heaven LOL laugh.gif

I think it is so funny that they are scared of new things like that! I always want mine to play on the right away because I am so excited from making or buying it but it just doesn't work like that! They'll get used to it soon tho!
