Friday of last week we left early in the morning, and on the way out we saw what I thought was a dead bird. We got back home several hours later to find that there was a living baby bird underneath our 4-wheeler. It had something around it's foot, and it looked as though both leg and wing were broken. We went straight to my vet, and he was sure it was a severe femur fracture. We had him put the little baby out of it's misery. The poor Momma bird, attacked my hubby, and yelled at us for 2 days, it just sucks to have to do things like that.

Yes it certainly is sad to do what you were faced with...You were very brave and you probably did what was best for the little robin....That was better than maybe a cat or some other predator getting it....

yes you did the right thing. I am sorry but it was the best thing....

You did the right and most unselfish act for that poor baby. I'm sorry you had to go thru that, it doesn't matter what it is, it is hard. God bless you for taking that baby out of his misery and given him the proper respect in death.

I agree you did the right thing. I know that doesn't make it any easier though.
