To All:

I can't begin to tell everyone how broken hearted I am over losing my little girl, Chicky Baby. She was the sweetest fid I ever had. She will be greatly missed.

I can't seem to stop crying for her. I feel I've been crying this whole month. Her attacks were hard to watch. Yet when she came out of them she was so happy and gave me so much joy in the short time we were together (She was 3 1/2 months old and we had 7 short weeks together). We bonded right from the start and she was the sweetest bird right to the very end.

Yesterday, Sunday, was the worst day. I held her pretty much the hold day. She had one attack after the other. She would fall asleep on me and I would just hold her and stoke her and tell her how much joy she gives me and that I love her. I prayed that God would take her suffering away and last night God answered my prayers. She took her last breath in my arms and she is free now and breathing deeply and flying free. I'm happy that she is not suffering but I miss her so much already.

Oh, no. I am so sorry. I have been waiting and wondering about her. Your story made me cry and I know that you loved her so much. Not every parront would go through what you did.

So sorry to hear about her! But Just know that she had you and knew you loved her, and you probably gave her so much more than anyone else could have.

I hope you find comfort in knowing that she isn't suffering anymore and with help of family and friends be there to comfort you. In time I know it wont hurt so bad and just cherish those wonderful memories So sorry for your loss

So sorry to hear about your baby. Did you ever know for sure what was wrong with her? If something that maybe she had at birth then maybe your breeder will help you with another one.(if she came from a breeder.) Sooo young .

Oh Kate I am sooooo sorry about Chicky Baby!! We were all so hoping the vet could find out something and fix her!

Those videos were heartbreaking to watch ... I cried when I watched the first one and was not able to watch any of the others. Oh my heart breaks to see Chicky like that!

She is now out of pain and, as you said, breathing deep across the Rainbow Bridge. She knew how much you loved her, you told her often enough!

Omg I'm so sorry to hear about Chicky Baby I know it must have been so hard on you, but you've done absolutely everything you could for her. You were a great mama to her, and brought so much into her life. I'm glad she ended up with someone like you.
But now, she is flying free, free of hurt and pain and sickness.

Oh Kate, I am so very sorry. This is just such a shame. It was far too soon for her to go. Just remember that you did everything you could for Chicky Baby and she will always be a part of you.

Kate, I am sorry to hear about Chicky. We all have been hoping for good news for Chicky. The video was heartbreaking for me and you being mommy had to be 10x worse just know she is not in pain any longer and that you loved her very much..sending you lots of hugs and prayers....

Kate, I'm sending big hugs your way, I'm so sorry to hear about Chicky Baby. As everyone else has said at least you know that she's flying free and breathing easily now. I know what your going through right now, time will help ease the pain and just know that she loved you as much as you did her.

When you've had a chance for your emotions to settle, I would try and contact the breeder...and let them know about it. If you bought her from a pet store, they should still have records of where she came from and should have a way of contacting them. The breeders need to know so they can check on any of the others that may have been from her clutch. It could very well have been a genetic thing as opposed to environmental.

I'm Still Here

I was near you, by your bed last night; I came to have a peek.
I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.

I chattered to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you. I'm well. I'm fine. I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast. I watched you pour the tea.
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached out to me.

I was with you at my grave today. You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you, that I am not lying there.

I flew with you back towards the house. As you fumbled for your key,
I gently touched you with a feather, I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know that I was perching there.

You sat there very quietly, and then smiled. I think you knew

I am so so sorry to read this Kate. I haven't been on for a few days but decided to check only to find the worst news possible.
Poor little Chicky Baby. She is free from the pain now. So sad how she had to fight to stay with you as long as she did.

I'm so very sorry you lost her. But I am just as happy that you had her if even for such a short time. How wonderful for Chicky Baby that of all the people who could have become her parront, she had you. Take care of yourself and be proud of the way you have handled this terribly difficult situation.

Oh Kate, Im so so sorry for your loss of Chicky baby....I know it hurts alot ..I just lost my beloved Robbie July 9,2007, and whats worse was that it was my anniversary that day too..Rest assure God has Chicky Baby in his hands and he is flying freely ....Im so sorry Kate..

oh kate I am sorry..I just watched the vidoe and I am in tears...when Chicky baby is coming out of her attack it reminded me of Robbie trying to gasp for air, and me telling him I love him....man this video really made me cry...

There are no words that can ease the pain or make things better...only time will take care of that. Chicky Baby will forever live in your hearts and the hearts of your friends and family. Sorry for your loss.

Oh I think it's safe to say that Chicky had a spot in everyone's heart on here. I think everyone was really pulling for her. At least she is now at peace and not having those heart-wrenching attacks anymore-- it still is so sad! Our thoughts are with you. You gave her a wonderful home where she was so loved.

It took me a few days to be able to think of what to say - we all suffered along with you to see Chicky on video, and now we all share your loss. The poor little thing suffered so in her short life, but you were an angel sent to her to hold her and love her. And she in turn, was sent to you so that you could experience that powerful love. I wish I could say something to ease your loss. When the time is right, you will know how to carry on Chicky's life and love, perhaps with another fid. In the meantime, rest assured you have a little birdie angel watching over you!
