Frankie's Mom
Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to give a formal update, since I have mentioned this to some of you in passing during chat.

Yesterday I brought home the first of three Q's coming to our home in the next two weeks. I have no idea if this is a male or female, however IT is very well behaved. Not a squawk out of IT so far. LOL, IT is what my hubby has named IT. Just temporary until we receive the DNA test back.

IT was formerly named "Dawson", but didn't know it. IT had been left in a basement by himself for the past year. Unhandled, in a filthy cage. His owner bought IT for her daughters who were scared of IT. IT does know step up, but doesn't chirp, sing or talk yet.

On our way home we stopped for a wing clipping and a DNA test. IT took it like a trooper! smile.gif We also bought some more parts to make toys with so we could decorate the new cage. I bought a great H Q cage (model 8002422) for $140, so I was very pleased. So pleased, in fact, that I bought three of them!! tongue.gif (Note: all of the Q's coming here desperately needed new cages.)

IT took a spray bath very well, didn't know what to do with a nutriberry but ate seed, checked out some toys and began to yawn. IT retired about 8pm last night and slept until 8:30am today. I think IT was very exhausted after the big adventure of coming to the new home yesterday.

IT has no idea what to do with the playtop, or the Twizzle Tent, or most of the toys. This little one has really moved up, going from a beat up cage with the vinyl eaten off of the bars and one ratty toy, to a penthouse with a plethora of toys and playtop!!

I will post photos tomorrow morning when I get to work. I left my cable for the camera at my desk.

Just wanted to share the smiles and the love. This little one will fit right in here. I guess after IT is used to the cage and decides to let us pick him/her up without a fuss that we will begin the conversion to pellets. wub.gif

you are very generous with your love i comend you for taking those babies in. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME PEOPLE. to leave such a little lovely in a dark basement Kinda sounds like my Pugsy(rescued boston terrier) He was kept in a cat carrier from 6wks till i got a hold of him at 8months. so sad but to see him now at 5 years old you would never know it I noticed you are from St. Louis so we are neighbors i live about an hour and a half away just north of Mt. Vernon, Il. good luck with the babies i know they will do great with you
