I've been working on this for a while now...it really wouldn't take too long, but I only had short periods of time to do it in. Overall, I think this thing cost be about $15-20, plus a lot of extra supplies for maybe a perch or something. Anyway, without further ado:

I got the ideas for the colored coffee filters in the back and the climbing hammock from other posts on the forum. I would take a picture with my fid, but he's coming later this month! I can't wait! I'm going to have to figure out something to put underneath it, and the food and water dishes will sit on the bottom.

That is one lucky fid!! Great job!
Quakermom
wow what did you use for
"paint"?
Sandi Kiwis Mom
that is a great job! Maybe you can put a baking tray underneath or probably even paper towel. Good Job!

That is really great. I wish Morgan would play on things like this. I made him something out of PVC pipe before and he would have nothing to do with it. I finally gave it to my mom for her QP.

Yep, I agree, looks great!!!

You could drill some holes into it and put the food/water dishes closer to the top. Either way is fine, just make sure the dishes aren't under a perch, otherwise baby will poop in them laugh.gif

Wow! Nice job!

Thanks everyone! I really worked hard on it.
-->Quakermom, I used vet wrap that I found at an equine store near my house (Millbrooke Tack and Trailer) It was somewhere around $1.90 - $2.50 per roll. I'm not sure why there was a price difference between some of the colors, I thought they were the same length. I still have plenty left over to re-wrap in the future.
I also wrapped one side up with jute and pony beads. I vastly underestimated how much I needed (you can kind of see the knot halfway up on the left side). I just hope my fid won't chew on the knot too much!
By the way, I found a lot of different stainless steel nuts, bolts, washers, and hooks at Lowe's. So, if anyone is looking for some, try there, or Home Depot.

Hey- that looks great! I love playing with PVC. (i work at a plumbing shop)
I made a jungle jim for Eli but he's not super-crazy about it. That's ok I can take it apart and "play" some more! I'll have to get my hubby to help with some pics so I can show you guys my buddy and my jungle jim.
I'm sure your little guy will love it, especially with all the pretty bright colors

No problem Quakermom! And thanks everyone for your comments! I had a lot of fun making it.

Great job with the playstand. Your new fid should love it.

Just remember not to put any water dishes on it, and, don't spray water on the vet wrap. It tends to become very sticky when wet, and stays sticky, even after it gets dried. Then, you have to remove it all and rewrap everything.

Congrats on the new fid. Cant wait to see some pictures!

Thanks for the advice..I never even thought about what would happen when vet wrap gets wet!
