I'm getting a quaker! My dream is coming true! I posted earlier that I would like to adopt a quaker but I didn't have any money for an adoption fee. This lovely lady on the forum saw my post and pm'd me and offered Sunny to me! How awesome is that!? She is coming with all that I need, I just have to get the Goldenfeast Carribean bounty for her. I'm on my way to pick that up and maybe a new toy for her. Here is her picture,
she is the most beautiful bird I have ever seen, don't you agree!? I can't wait for Thursday, now I have to find someone to drive with me... She only lives a few hours away, so it shouldn't be too bad. Thank you Debra for making this dream a reality.

Congrats! I'm glad Sunny is going to be well looked after. Now, keep in mind there is no such thing as a 'free' bird. You'll have to get a vet check up and all that fun stuff

Hi Carrie-Anne, yep I know about the vet. I called my dog vet and she is recommending an avian vet in the City. I'm already buying the food and toys she will need tomorrow. And I have all the patience in the world, I know she will be upset and I am ready for it. I went to the library today and borrowed 4 books on parrots and behaviour and feeding. I will do my very best to give her the greatest, permanent home ever! Thank you all for your well wishes, I will update with photos and such.

Fid stands for ----feathered, furry or fin kid -------

Also I would like to mention since you are a new member, it would be beneficial for you to go back and read prior postings as much as you can which shares a lot of information under each category....

FID means "Feathered Kid" or Finned Kid for fish for Furry Kid for dogs and cats......

I've been reading as many post as I can without getting behind on everything else!
I finish a book on a well behaved parrot, I don't agree with everything, but it did make sense when it talked about spoiling them and when they mature.

One more day! I get my beautiful Sunny tomorrow, oh how exciting! I bought the food I needed today, but none of the pet stores had the goldenseed, so I have to get that tomorrow at a specialty store on the way.
