Hello All I am writing to all to ask for a lil help maybe.I have taken in three rescue tiels that I must say though they are scared and unsure bout their surroundings being new again I think they are just beautiful. There is two females and one lil male whom has one leg.Seems in a prior home a dog got ahold of him and that is why one leg. They have been vet checked and they got a a ok bill of health. What I am asking for help with is they did not come with a cage.I currently have them in my other tiels cage for now but she has to have her cage as well.So I need to know if anyone here in MI has a extra cage they could help out with???.I have two toys that I can give to them to get them started off with.I could not bare the thought of those beautiful babys not having a permenant home to call their own.I have to purchase batteries for my camera but as soon as I do I will get some pics of them on here so all can see .Thanks again for taking the time to read this and please welcome my newest babys to the forum.Any suggestions on names???? the two hens are only 10 months old but no names have been chosen as of yet.

Congrats!!!

I'm way too far to help with the cage. Hopefully someone else will be able to assist with that. Otherwise you may have to purchase one for them. Even though they have been vet checked, I would still do a quarantine period.

I'm not sure if this will help you out on a cage or not, but have you tried looking on Craigslist for a free cage? I know they are always selling them pretty cheap, or even giving them away in our area quite often. Good Luck on your search and Congratulations on your new additions!!!

I hae a question bout quarentine, how can that occur in a home when the furnace is running and distributing the air thru the house? is it not taking the air that is in that room as well thru the cold air returns?.

You are right it is. Sorry, but there is nothing that can be done. You just hope that the distance is at least a plus since there isnt any other alternative. We just have to do the best we can. Just make sure there are good filters in the furnace and maybe it will help trap anything in the air..

Thank you for your agreeance with that I thought about it.My hubby thought I was nutty lol.I can get the male Underdog out but since the one leg is a problem he cannot hop around alot and gets frustrated rather easily.Poor lil guy, the two ladies are doing good but do not want to be handled at all.So here go the pinch marks again lol.

Where in Michigan? I have an extra cage I could give you. I had my tiels in it at one time till they decided to move in with their other fid pals at my house.
