I have seen many of these on the internet and was wondering if anyone had a pattern to make it. I like to sew and have tons of fabric but I cant seem to find a patern.

Thanks

http://www.catbirdpets.com/bird_havens.htm These are the ones I am talking about.

My husband and I are going to Wilmington NC for Thanksgiving and are planning o taking Cabo with us. I am afraid that she will get cold so I want her to have a kozy for the car trip.

I don't know if we have any members who make that exact type of happy hut, but I do know we have members who have instructions to make them. Judy (Twizzlebeak) makes hers for her bird, so why not send her a PM Click~Here for her profile.

Also, you can always put a thick blanket over 3/4 of the cage to cover it up, that will help to keep the heat in too.

I found these very basic instruction on the internet:

Cut a rectange 17" by 9" make the short side on the fold. (so one 9" side is a fold instead of a cut or raw edge) then with the right sides (printed side) together sew along the long sides leaving the 9" side open.

Then flip the right sides out. take what ever your using for the base, i used this felt stuff but 2 pieces. cut to size (about 5" long by 8" long can't remember for exact, but you can measure, a good way to measure is to divide the total length (long way) by 3.) then put base inside in the middle. cut 2 strips for hanging, about 4-6" then fold in half. place them with the 2 ends of the fabric together and sew completing the hut. attach quick links and apply in cage.

I have a used one at home that is too small for a Quaker. If you would like me to mail it to you so you could use it for a pattern, PM me your address. I can not sew without an ambulance on standby so there is no way I'm attempting it! rolleyes.gif
