3 of my little 'keets died yesterday. Polly, Charlie Buzzard, and Sqeeks all suddenly died yesterday. I came home from school and was goin to feed them and they were all on the bottom of the cage. none of us know what happened to them. We still have little Cloud, she was laying by her brother Charlie and her dad Polly. At least she's still not too upset to sit on her three eggs. We think they were over fed or got the wrong food when we had our friends watch them when we went to Georgia. It's kinda confusing really. All of us are really upset though.

Awwwe, bless your heart. It's hard enough to lose one pet, so you must be having a hard time of it. I hope you fel better soon.

I wonder if your friends used non-stick cookware or something else that caused this? Candles maybe? There are so many sources of poison for our birds. It would be better if you could find the cause, then you can prevent such horrible things in the future.

How awful! I would run the one bird to the vet, just to be sure, and it sounds an awful lot like Teflon poisoning. Did anyone cook with nonstick cookware before the deaths? Losing three birds at once is a sign that something drastic and awful happened!

Don't know. Ill ask them. At least the one and her eggs survived. she didn't lay them till she got back tho. And theres not really any vets that deal with birds in the area, they're all in different cities. Other then her being upset about her brother and dad dying she seems fine. We're going to get her a new friend for Christmas in hopes of cheering her up.

Also, they didn't die for about 3 weeks after they got back, and I had forbidden my mom and dad to use teflon, and they haven't used it, and I haven't given them any treats lately so it can't be food poisoning. I don't know what made them die.

you just helped me figure it out in a different thread. It had to have been the canles we used during that ice storm when the power went out it had to have been. Does anyone know how long it takes for canle smoke to kill birds? I feel like a moron for not remembering about candles. I wish I had remembered sooner. I couldve taken them to a vet. this is a horrible Christmas!......
