I came in from work today, and found my sweet Mojo passed away on the bottom of her cage. I have no idea as to what caused it. She had been lively, in good health, and very happy lately.

This is so painful....my best friend of the last 8 years gone. I did kiss her goodnight, and did the normal routine, but somehow i still have this huge hole like something was left undone or unsaid. I know its weird to say that about a bird....but she was SO special to me.

Im a wreck right now, my holidays are ruined. Just wanted to get it off my chest I guess.

I am so sorry to hear about Mojo. I will keep you in my thoughts it is hard to lose a loved one even more around the holidays. (((Hugs)))

Oh no----I am so so sorry to hear of Mojo's passing...I can imagine how awful this is for you now.....I do hope you consider a necropsy to find out what happened as it may help another birdie one day.....

oh my I am so sorry about your little mojo, i know the feeling, youare hurting bad right now, but maybe in her own way she did not want you there to see her pass. I know you feel as if there were more to say to her, one more hug or something else, but right now she is in another place. I hope you feel better.

I am so sorry for your loss. There are so many things that we don't understand when it comes to a pet or someone we love and they pass away. I know you gave Mojo wonderful 8 years and he or she knew they were loved and still is love by you.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers! Ive lost birds before and have dealt with it very well. But this lil sweetie was my heart. My first bird, and a gift from my ex girlfriend. She stole my heart from the very first day i held her....just seems so unfair to lose her so early without warning. The Holidays will be tough, cause i always included her in opening gifts, and other Xmas traditions. (

But I will get through this eventually. Again, thank everyone for all the kind words.

So sorry about MoJo. I just wanted to say that I don't think it is at ALL odd for you to feel the way you do towards a bird. These Quakers are heart snatchers in the extreme. Just thinking about something happening to Polly or Buddy makes me feel absolutely heartsick and physically ill. Many here understand the depth of your affection. Grieve, and then go on, knowing you gave MoJo a good life.

I feel so bad for you at a time like this. It is so hard to loose a beloved pet. I've been through it before. It hurts your heart so bad. I hope with time the sorrow won't be so bad. Mojo would want you to still have a Merry Christmas. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ok in the when you think you've had it bad collum A good friend of mine has lost sooo much this year in early spring his Yellow nape died he had had him for more than 12yrs then this summer his mother died from hospital stupidity this fall his new Blue and Gold killed his peach faced lover bird he had had for 6 years (she was flighted and flew into the big birds cage) then the Great green wing Macaw (He's rescued from a police call the owner had died with the bird on his arm and wouldn't let the cops near him.) died in the middle of having her beak trimmed
he'd owned her for 8 years. He owns a pet store but still all his losses this year have me at a loss to even express my concern. So I will say to you and him and all of us Live as we love and Love as we live and so we will be known and remembered.

Im so sorry. 3 of my keets passed on the other day when I was gone. We live in Okla. and our power was out and we used candles not even knowing that they were being poisoned. I just figured it out today its soooo grieving. Im sorry about Mojo, hope this makes you feel better.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. All the words we have to offer can't ease the heartache you are feeling; but time will. It's always amazing to me how your heart can ache so much for these little creatures.

It's never easy to lose a loved one and its even worse when it happens during the holidays; just know that you are in our thoughts and that you aren't alone in this. Remember too that Mojo is now flying free and will be looking over you and sending his love back to you too.

Either that or he'll be pooping on your head like a seagull

I know, that sounds mean, but hopefully it made you smile just a bit and help lighten the situation just a bit.

Take the time you need to grieve and then maybe you'll be able to find a new bird to fill the hole in your heart that Mojo's passing has left. He wouldn't want you to be sad. Think of all the fun times you've had, and when you open presents, tear one open extra hard for Mojo. He'll be watching.

I am so so sorry for your loss. I hope you can have a neocrospy performed to find out what may have happened. I have lost 2 in the last 2 years. One was from natural causes and one from eating glass. If I had not had the neocrospy I would not have known and would still be feeding with glass bowls.

I understand them being your best friend my birds are my life!

I'm so so sorry to hear of Mojo's passing!! My TAG Selena, the love of my life, passed the same exact way just a few weeks ago!! And I lost my "other son", Peekaboo the QP just a few months ago after a tragic cage accident!!

I'm hurting right along with you, and hopefully in time, the huge hole in our hearts will heal, and leave only the good memories of our time with them!

I am sorry to read that you lost Mojo. It is clear that you loved her well and continue to. These birds are so special they claim us as their own and we lovingly share the journey with them. I know the loss is difficult, yet Grace will comfort you and you will sometimes "hear" her speak with you. She's free and happy and will patiently wait for you.
