Long time ago before violence was as common as it is now on the screen. I wanted to walk out on Deliverance with Burt Reynolds. It was one of the forerunners of sex and violence. I was afraid if i stood up to leave i was gonna puke in the aisle. That was all that stopped me too. And man,,it was not anything like ya see today. You just grow more insensitive and immune I think. You didnt really even see that much. It was more suggestive than anything, but boy i knew what they were suggesting. Just yuck.

The Punisher!!!
Of course, I would have walked out of that one too!! Even though I was there when it was filmed. That was in St. Petersburg, Florida. At Desoto Park. We went there for a visit, and some parts of the park were off limits because of the filming. We saw the pier with the foreign flag on it! So, we were looking forward to seeing the movie.
We were so disappointed.

Oh Kate, I know what you mean. I remember wasting a perfectly nice Sunday afternoon about 10 years ago or so by watching it on regular tv. I was tired of not knowing what everyone was referencing when the subject was brought up. I wish I would've stayed ignorant

The landing at Omaha Beach was a particularly nasty affair. I have always been interested in military history and have read much about WWII. Many military historians and the men that were there hailed
Saving Private Ryan as the most accurate screen representation yet of the horrors of that action. It may not have been pleasant viewing, but maybe you can imagine what it must have been like for the men - no, boys! - that were there!
Personally, I rank it as one of the best films ever!
One of the worst, though, was
300.

Oh I agree Quark .... the movie itself was great, but war is not pleasant or pretty and I just couldnt take the violence shown. I know that scene was probably LESS violent than actual .... And with our troops going to war to this day, it REALLY bothered me simply because of the violence. I've since watched the movie again, but I still turn away or step out for the beach landing.

I'm a huge fan of sharks, so any shark movie, I'm itching to watch. So we rent 'Open Water'. I did manage to watch it til the end, only because I kept hoping to see some sort of shark action. BIG dissapointment.
I've never walked out on a movie and there has only been one or two that I've turned off. I'm kinda one of those people that has to stick it out, for better or for worse

Honey still complains about that one....he watched it to the end too. He was ranting and raving for hours after that, lol. I didn't watch it, I dont do scary-ish movies. He assured me that there was nothing scary about it. Just 2 people floating around for 2 hours.

Ok, I must be one of the few Americans, but I did not like "No Country for Old Men".
It got so many awards, but for the life of me I don't know why, it was mediocre at best. Same with Little Miss Sunshine.
