Hi all-
I have two healthy, beautiful birds that need a loving, kind home. I adopted them about 18 mos ago. It was going well at first, then the quaker, Sammy, who was loving and able to be handled started biting. He is about 3 years old. He was from a wild flock and was brought in to my friends Vet clinic with a broken leg. He has healed fine. I thought that I could retrain him but with three kids and a farm, it was hard to find time to get him back on track. Sammy loves being talked to, but will need to be re taught how to step up. I am a wimp about it. He talks.
Rosie is a Blue Headed Pionus, She is sweet, not a biter. She likes her head scratched, but gets nervous when handled, She talks as well, sounds like a robot. She was another bird that was brought into a vet clinic. She had gotten loose from someone and crashed into somebody's window. She walks with a limp.
They come with toys, two hanging perches and a large, in good condition, white cage. They live together.
I thought that birds would make good pets for us, but it's not going well for the birds. They need a better home with bird people who will give them the attention that they deserve. They are lovely, and I will miss them, but it's not about me. I want them to have the life they deserve.
If you can give me three great, glowing references and I see that you are a member of this community and feel that our birds will thrive emotionally and physically in your home, then they are free.
If you can't give me any references, in order to make sure that this is not a "on a whim" decision, there will be a 200.00 cost. I hope you understand. Please contact me at kimcosar@yahoo.com.
Thanks!

Hi Kim, Sorry to hear you have to rehome your FIDs. I wish I lived closer to you, I would take the quaker, but I live in Ohio. I have had some success with difficult quakers, but sometimes it takes awhile. My little Elmo was bounced through 3 homes before he wound up with us. He was a very angry little guy when he got here, but gradually he came around and now he is the first one to come looking for me if I am out of the room. I have been a member here for a couple of years, and I'm sure you will be able to find them homes with some of our members. Good luck.
