Let me start out by saying that this was not a rescue. Blue was rehomed with me because the previous owner is having a health problem and wants to do what is best for Blue.

Julie (Julies Jungle) and I touched base because she saw how badly I wanted to own a blue Quaker. We've been talking back and forth for weeks and she finally got to the point of knowing she could trust me.

I drove to WV on Monday to pick him up. He's beauuuutiful. I had only seen Blue Quakers in pictures. Julie and I had a nice chat with lots of hugs and tears. I left there with a Blue Quaker, two cages, all of his favorite toys, food and treats. Julie refused three seperate times to take ANY money. I could see that all she truly wanted was for me to love Blue with all of my heart.

With that all being said, here is Blue...




This is a temporary cage until Blue gets to know me and trust me enough to "step up". His large cage is all set up and waiting for him.

Julie, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You just don't know what this whole experience has met to me.

I've always felt I would like to have one also, but my little green chicken would not approve....Anyway Paula, wishing you and Blue much happiness...And do keep us updated with the bonding process....And Julie I have idea how you feel; but just know that Blue went to a good home..God Bless you both....

Blue is beautiful - I've always wanted a blue qp as well, but probably will never get one. He has the same cage my Bubba does - I love it and so does he.

So glad everyone is home safe and sound and I know as does Julie that Blue will be loved and spoiled. Blue is absolutely gorgeous! Congrats!

Julie, I am sure this was hearbreaking for you, just know he will be loved and spoiled and still in the family as i feel that is what we are on this forum

Well blue is really pretty. I know you are so happy to have this addition. Wow I am really glad things worked out so well.
It must have been really really hard for you julie. I had a picture fram at home that says. Love isn't love till you give it away.
I'm guessing you know a lot about that. If I ever had to do such a thing, I would feel a whole lot better knowing someone here
was willing to take care of my baby.

Let me start off by saying thank you to Paula...There is a post in chit chat I posted about our meeting when you get time please read it because it is how I feel.

I am glad to see he is settling in but it brings a tear to my eye just seeing him. I think I am gonna stare a whole in the pic but I DO know he will be loved dearly and I love you dearly for taking him.I will always be eternally grateful and i got a terrific new friend (well I call her my angel) in Paula and her hubby is just as pleasant as she is.

Awwww I'm so glad everything worked out for everyone involved. I've always said this type thing could happen at any time to any of us. How fortunate we have a "pool" of good, loving, knowledgeable folks from the forum that we can turn to .

Hugs to both you and Julie, I know it's hard but it looks like Blue has found a wonderful home.

I had to take our Lab to the vet today so I thought I'd sneak Blue in for a wing clip. He did wonderful! I had a vet tech come it to hold him. I don't want him to associate that stress with me right now. Afterwards, the vet and I always chit chat about things. The whole time, I had Blue cradled to my chest and he seemed right at home. Hopefully the bond is slowly starting.
I have her cage right next to my desk, where I spend most of my time so I think that may be helping a bit too.

Awwwww! It's so nice when love comes together for the sake of a precious fid! It's a happy day with mixed emotions, but the welfare of the bird is the most important thing of all.
This is one lucky baby, going from one great home to another with no iffy homes in between.

He is so pretty!!!

Blue is moving right along. To pick him up I have to use the palm of my hands, but two times today, when he jumped off of his cage, he stepped up for me.
He's sitting and staying on my shoulder but he gave me a nice sharp bite on the cheek this morning. I was proud of myself, I didn't even flinch. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction! LOL Not much noise from him yet. I guess he doesn't feel quite too settled in yet.

So that's my report on my Blue.

Blue is still doing well. Stepping up on my finger now when he's out of his cage. He's very cage protective so I let him come out on his own. I'll hold him to my chest and he gets really snuggly and likes me to rub down his back. He still can get a little flittery from time to time. Here is is on his swing.

Oh Paula....he is just gorgeous and sounds like he is doing wonderful!! Good job!

You are definitely an ANGEL! Re-homing Blue and lessoning the burden on Julie while she is in a health situation. If only there were more caring people in the world like you. God Bless You!
Also, Blue is gorgeous! I want a Blue Quaker so bad. I have not seen one a handsome as him in a long while. You must be keeping him happy, because his health doesn't look affected at all since the move. Keep up the good work together.

He looks wonderful. Paula. Brings a tear to my eye,(which isn't hard to do). He looks quite content sitting on his swing. Thanks again for all you are doing and have done.
