I just welcomed a lovely quaker to my family! Frankies Mom- here on the board- arranged for me to adopt Gus from her and he arrived on Saturday. He is so pretty and sweet. I think last nigth he was a little shook up from the transition, but already this afternoon he is warming up to me. He's been telling me he is a pretty bird- and I certainly agree!! He had a lunch today of a hard boiled egg, dried mango and a potato chip (shhhh dont tell anyone about the chip!) I think we are going to be wonderful friends!! Let me tell you about "Frankies Mom". She is such a wonderful, friendly person! I really enjoyed meeting her and I love her devotion to the animals, not only birds, but the four legged friends too. She was sweet to go out of her way to deliver Gus to me and also stopped to pick up an order supplies for me that I had ordered. She is very knowledgable of birds and you can see the care she has for them in her eyes. If you are looking to provide a home to a bird, look Frankies Mom up, you wont be displeased- and I think she still has some quakers available. I am more then pleased, and thanks Joni for introducing me to Gus! We will def keep in touch! Here is Gus's pic. Btw- the candles in the background are not close to him like they appear to be, and yes, I know not to burn them now that Gus is here. :-)

Awww, Gus looks very content sitting atop his cage! He has come such a long way ... I must admit this was the hardest one so far to let go. Gus had an awful, rocky start - and he has just flourished over the past six months. I knew when he came to me that he was one special little guy ... and I know you will give him the love and attention he so deserves! Thank you so very much for giving Gus his forever home!

Please keep the updates and pics coming! I'm a little misty eyed missing him, and just seeing his glowing little face reinforces the fact that he is in the best place possible!

For anyone who doesn't know her, btw, Robin is a wonderful, outgoing, fabulous lady with a kind family and the biggest heart you have ever met! Thank you again, Robin, for being Gus' Mommy.

I couldnt agree with you more about Joni. I feel honored and blessed to know her and call her a friend. I am glad you adopted Gus and it sounds like he is on the road to some big time spoiling. Cant wait to hear stories about him and pictures too!
