I was wondering if we could make it so that when you hold the cursor over the thread title instead of the date if it could display the first line of the thread body. It's like that on other forums that I look at and I like it quite a bit to be able to see what the thread is about in more detail before I open it to see if it's what I'm looking for to read at the moment. Also a small request and maybe I'm being picky on this one, but I would much prefer if the 'start new thread' button was on the left side of the screen instead of the right. I've found it awkward to use as I am a member of about 4 other threads and they all have it on the left so it makes it difficult to remember that here it's on the right. The latter is not, obviously, a large complaint or a major problem, and I'm not sure if anyone else doesn't like it of even noticed or what. Both are small and , presumably, simple changes that would make a real difference to me at least and, hopefully, others will chime in and agree. I think the first line showing up of a thread would be a great idea for sure!

I think it comes down to what you are used to. I've been on this forum for 3 years and it would be a heck of an adjustment for me to get used to the 'add new thread' button being in a different place

Actually, when Dee and Shelly upgraded the forum a little while ago, some of the buttons were moved around and I don't know how many people I accidently tried to 'report' because the buttons were switched around

I agree with Carrie Anne it would be hard to get used to the change but thats jmo.
Change Hover to Topic View versus Date -- No (but will check with Shelly)
I'm guessing that you are referring to VBulletin boards that default to topic view when hovering over the title ..
The date view when hovering over the link to the thread is default for Invision Power Boards (this forum's software) and therefore any changes would require changes to the code in the stock files. When stock files are changed we need to document and ensure that with each upgrade that these files are looked at and changed again ... So although it can be done and may be a simple change ... there would need to be an overwhelming need to make the code changes that warrant the manual requirement to upkeep it with each software update ..
I will check with Shelly to see what she thinks but I am guessing she won't want to go there ...
Move the New Thread Button -- No
I personally like all posting buttons on the right .. This would be a change to the skin wrapper and although possible wouldn't be something everyone is use to and will interfere with the navigation unless the navigation is moved to the right ...
Again, I think the default for VBulletin has posting buttons on left and navigation on the right so it is available that way as VB default..
I'm sorry my replies aren't more favourable .. We do try to accomodate as much as possible keeping in mind that we also like to keep the manual work for upkeeping down as much as possible
