Full Version: Peanut And Paulie Update

Well we are all settled in and doing great! Peanut has of course been out cuddling with me and playing. Paulie I am going to try taking him out tonight. He asks for tickles and lets me scritch his neck and "hold hands" through the bars and lays on his side with his back to me so I can rub it and hasn't attempted a bite yet. He also takes treats and food from my fingers very gently. Cheryl did a wonderful job with him. My husband got up this morning and walked by the cage and Paulie said good morning to him, so he stopped and talked to him and he held up his foot to "hold hands" and Mark did and Paulie started dancing. Then he let Mark give him scritches on his head! I was so amazed. When my daughter walked in Paulie started dancing and calling to her and let her do the same. He has been so social, of course its probably the honeymoon period and he will be trying us before long but he is doing much better than I expected. I tried to take pictures, got some good ones of Paulie, but I think Peanut likes the camera because the minute she sees it she comes right up to the front of the cage and won't stop rocking and moving around so hers are not as good.

OH Paulie love your heart!

When you want Paulie to be with you the best way to do it is let him go to the top of the cage then get him to step up on the yellow thingy, or if your brave try step ups. He knows what it means but sometimes is a bit stubborn. I can usually get him with my finger and step up if he only gets as high as the seed guard, and I am insistant and don't let him bite which means watching for his cues, which you will have to learn. He hasn't bit me to draw blood in over a year now, I get warning bites but nothing more.

I sure miss them both. Tell Paulie he will always have my heart! wink.gif
