I'm in Vancouver and am looking to rehome my quaker Milo, she is very sweet to my husband, never bites him, but squawks and is extremely aggressive towards me. He's much taller than me and I think she has a hard time loving more than one person, feels I'm a threat, and treats me like one. I think it's an instinctual thing that she just isn't going to get past and I've accepted that, I just can't handle being squawked and screamed at every time I come home through the door. We've had her for 2 1/2 years now and have tried everything to get her to change her ways, but I am resolved that this is who she is and it's taken a real strain on me.

I've never been in this kind of situation before. I love her very much despite her feelings toward me, and we've had an incredibly difficult time coming up to this point as we're afraid to see her getting passed around from one home to the next.

She can be sooo cute when she dances and flaps her wings and lifts her leg and makes a trill happy sound. She is always coming up with all kinds of cool sounds she mixes with words when we're not in the room, laughs when we laugh, says her name, little phrases like 'whatcha doin' and mimics the sound of our microwave when it beeps. She is very special to us.

Thank you

Hi there, I live in the Vancouver area and while I'm not in the position to take on a 2nd bird right now, I just wanted to give you the information for Greyhaven as an option. Greyhaven is an awesome rescue with amazing, caring people. Birds that are surrendered to them are fostered in homes where they get daily training and attention.
