Great Gonzo

I have just lost my little buddy Gonzo (Quaker Parrot). I live in St. Louis Missouri and I am trying to find a local breeder to get a baby. I am looking for any help in this matter. I have had no luck so far. The one breeder I talked to has never called me back with any information. So I have to look elsewhere for help. Feel free to send me any help you can.
Thank you,
Dave

There is a Quaker in Eastern O.K. that is posted on this site needing to be rehomed. It might be worth a drive.

I may give some thought to a rescue quaker if I don't have any luck finding a baby. I enjoyed the bonding of the hand feeding and would really like to do that again with a baby.

good luck in your search...but please don't over look a rehome. So many times it seems that they too can be very young birds and even at an older age they have the ability to bond quite well!

I took Skipper in when he was about 18yrs (my first bird) and he is quite bonded to me and my girls.

Contact Tracy at Varietee's Bird Shop in Valley Park. Her number is 636-225-2473. If you are interested in perhaps adopting an adult instead, please let me know.

I am not over looking it. I would prefer a baby to raise as my first choice. My wife and son enjoyed Gonzo and they would both be more likely to want one a little older anyway. So a rehome would work better for them than for me.

There's also one in Clute Texas that is young so you might check that one out...its in the Needs a New home Section here....

I have had to wait a while but I have my new little buddy. The breeder I get it from asked me if I was interested in another little baby she had. It was born with a deformed left wing and both feet are partially deformed also. I am happy to say it too has a new loving home. We are even going back in a week to two weeks to get the other two babies. The breeder was nice enough to keep the other two and hand feed them for us while we take care of these two. I wanted to bring them all home but knowing I had to take them to work with me for a week or two due to 4 a day feedings four babies was a bit to much. I will post some pictures once we get them all together. I have not named it yet. I wanted to call it Gonzo after my last quaker but it just didn't feel right. I have time on that too.

Great news

Varitees on 141 in valley park or bird cage wharehouse in St.peters on 94 are a great place to buy pellets and other supplies. Alot cheaper then petco and other such places (although I buy the 25 lbs bags) but their toys are bit expensive but they have a great selection . Bird cage wharehouse also clips wings and nails for free and varitees does it once a month for a fee..but Dr.Kersting comes in to do it.
Great of you to take in the 'special' baby! Wow..3 new babies? Enjoy them!

Actually it will be 4. We brought 2 home a few days ago and we will get the other 2 in about a week.
