Full Version: My Blue Male "talker" Needs A New Home In Nc
Quaker Parrots Forum > For Pet Lovers > Avian Re-Homing > Needs New Home
JoBeth
My blue male quaker, "Stormy", is going to have to go to a new home due to me having to sale my NC home and start a job that requires lots of out of state travel. Stormy is very cage territorial, but what a talker! He has a vocabulary of over 40 phrases!! He's so much company - like having a roommate.... that will whistle at you and say "I love you", "Good Morning", etc.... I live in Hickory, NC and would be willing to drive "Stormy" to meet his new owners if within a two/three state distance. I bought Stormy from Bob's Bird Farm in Tallahassee, Florida back in 2000. Stormy was hand-fed by the breeders from 10 days old, because his Mom lost interest since he was her only baby... But being hand-fed from almost birth made him sooooo tame. When I drove down to get him he was 4 months old and already doing tricks and talking up a storm. That's where he got his name!! Stormy still has a breeder band on his leg, because at the time I bought him, I lived in Georgia and Quakers were illegal to own there. I had him "sexed" to possibly breed him with my older green quaker "Trixie", but then found out it was illegal in Georgia. Now, however, I live in Hickory, NC and I'm going to have to put my house up for sale. I am very sad to have to sell Stormy, and hope this website is my answer to prayer to get Stormy a great new home. Interested???? I paid $525 for him, but will sell him along with his cage & stand for $350. JoBeth in NC excl.gif

Tiki's Mom
Hi JoBeth!

My name is Kaly and I also live in North Carolina, near Raleigh. If Sandra's family didn't work out my husband and I would love to see if your Stormy and my quaker, Tiki, get along. She is four years old and such a wonderful part of our family. My husband and I both work and we have been looking for the right companion for her for a long time now so that they can keep each other company during the day. We would like the birds to meet first before we commit to make sure our home would be best for both Stormy and Tiki. The rehoming fee is not a problem. We could drive up this weekend...Can't wait to hear from you!

I'm attaching a couple of pictures of Stormy so you all can see how beautiful he is!! He thinks so too, because he loves looking at himself in the mirror!!

I have room but no money. I hope you find a home soon.

Has this pretty boy found a home yet?
Tiki's Mom
Hi Kate,

I am still very interested in adopting Stormy. Unfortunately when JoBeth asked for my phone number to call me I accidentally typed a wrong number. I've sent messages to her correcting the error, but haven't heard from her yet. We hope to meet Stormy soon!

Thanks,
Kaly
Wubbie's Mom
Hello!!!

I've been interested in Stormy as well but so far no news... wacko.gif
Maybe JoBeth changed her mind....or she is having a hard time "giving him up"...and I can easily understand her...
I also sent her my phone numbers....hopefully her situation resolved and she is able to keep Stormy...
I hope the best for her and Stormy.... rolleyes.gif

I hope you find a good home for Stormy. I would take him but I am on the West Coast and 2 birds are my limit. Lets find Stormy a NEW home, NOW!!!!
kate
I wish he were closer. But then again he would also have to be free. biggrin.gif I have made myself a promise that any more birds I get would have to be free. Fat chance of this happening so I can keep MBS at bay. laugh.gif

Hi everybody!!

We don't know if Stormy found/need a new home at this point.

Tikki's Mom and myself both are interested in Stormy, but JoBeth(Stormy's Mom) hasn't responded to any of us...as far as I can tell.....

But both of us, Kaly and I would love to meet Stormy!!!!!

Stormy is still with JoBeth and not sold as of May 16. I am dragging my feet selling him because it's going to be sad without a quaker, after having at least one around for the past 22 years!! I do need to get serious about getting Stormy to a new, loving home and appologize to the delay in a decision. I'm new to this site and haven't figured out all of the navigation features. Thanks for your patience and responses everyone!! JoBeth
JoBeth
I'm glad to inform everyone that Stormy is now rehomed with "TiKi's Mom" in Sanford, NC. They got along great and Stormy was quite the "flirt" with his new girlfriend!! Thanks for all the responses.
