There are at LEAST 4 fox kits playing around ... maybe 6 ... or another litter of 3 or 4 as a couple of the little ones seemed to run back and forth across the driveway going visiting.

We hear the parents yipping at nite ... kinda noisy! rolleyes.gif

I will try to get better pics tomorrow ... I'll see about setting up the tripod so the pics are so wiggly.

I didn't know they were there ... my neighbor knocked on my door and showed them to me tonite. Tomorrow I will go out a little earlier and sit down by the den ... they are so curious they may come a lot closer to me ... I had two of them within 20 feet of me tonite, but it was getting dark, so the pics didn't come out. They are soooo curious!

I love where I live!!!!

Fun...watch your chickens...lol

Check and see if you have an "action" setting on your camera. It'll snap the shutter quicker and be less blurry when your subject is moving. Sometimes..... rolleyes.gif

Cool to have them guys as neighbours. cool.gif

We have a family that plays in our horse pasture about 5PM every afternoon. Mama is red, there are 5 little ones, 4 red and one gray. Hmmmmmm! rolleyes.gif

eeeek---foxes--and yes, they like chickens....

They love to travel at night...my sister has a couple that makes their visit just about dark a lot of evenings, and she lives in town...I wonder where their hiding place is....

Thanks Jo----

That would definitely be some neat neighbors!!!

I'll bet mama fox came near your house and heard all those birds and said "Yum yum, now this is the kind of place to set up housekeeping!". laugh.gif

IF my cable is back on tonite when I get home (area-wide outage last nite) I will post the videos I took last nite!

There are at least 6 kits (maybe 7, it's hard to count them as they run around so fast! tongue.gif ) and they were playing on the lawn, under the trees and by their den.

I was inside a building and took a few vids thru the window, but most are right out the door. I just propped the door open a little, sat in a chair without moving, and watched the fun! A couple times they came within 20 feet of me without noticing me (I didn't move) and I have some cute vids of them chasing each other around the clothesline pole. biggrin.gif

I'll try again tonite ... they are just so dang cute! I just thank heavens MY cat isn't an outdoor cat. I worry about the neighbor's cats, but so far, the cats have been ok. The kits do LOOK at them when they are out, but they don't get anywhere close to each other. I would worry more about the fox parents.

I'll be sorry to see them grow up and leave.

I'd love to have the fox as neighbors as opposed to the "goobers" i heard whooping and screeching last night ! dry.gif

I'm ready for the country!! I miss it badly. You're fortunate to see the wildlife. Have fun! smile.gif

That's so cool... I miss living in the country and seeing all the wild animals... We don't have fox here though. Must really be fun watching their antics.
