I need to re-home my Blue Quaker. I'm not sure of it's sex.
He/she does talk and comes with a very nice "pretty" large cage.
I am aking a re-homing fee of $450... this will include bird, cage,
perches, toys, food, etc.

I was wondering which city also.
I could foster for a bit it if was a desperation problem but, other than that, there's no room at this Inn.

He is a beautiful baby and that is a nice cage...however, I didn't see where anyone as yet to say that the rehoming fee is a little pricey.....If you have no takers soon, you may have to drop your price....Just passing some information on to you...
What is your quaker's name....like I said--he is very beautiful.....Good Luck....

I was thinking that he was a little pricey too Julie. I know that the cage is awfully pretty but still, I think she's going to have a problem. I hope I'm wrong though.

Is Cricket still for sale? There are a few people in NC that wanted to adopt another Blue, but I think they're staying away from Cricket because of the price. Maybe you could sell him, on here, without the cage and then sell the cage on Craigslist. Cages go fast on there.

I don't think 450. is asking allot especially when the cage and toys and food is going with the bird. Bot do I wish I was closer. Thats a steal. At least this way she knows the bird will be well looked after and not to someone who thinks they want a bird. Just my opinion.

Id say that seeing as how the birds are higher priced where you are ,than here ,that it doesnt seem too high.. Here it is too high.JMO,

Im in South Carolina and have a friend she is looking for one and would love to have the bird she is experienced with birds and would give it a wonderful home she is an ex vet tech (fibromialgia) and love loves loves her animals and wants a talking bird however there is no way that she would be able to pay that. I only paid $50 for Boris cage and all which I realize is very little considering what I got but if a great home is what you really care about then you need to come way down on the price. I agree with what someone else had said about seperate the bird and cage.......craigslist is an awsome place to sell things and they go quickly

No offense but I have a purebred German Shepard, Teacup Poodle and White Lab that I'm sure were a pretty penny. Two were dumped at the a dog shelter and the Poodle was found wandering the street in South FL and she was ABUSED. We thought her ribs were broken. We still have to be careful after all this time and all the love given to her because she is still scared to death and will bite, HARD!

Would love to have him but I live to far away. In my area of Ohio a weened baby is around 150.00 (blues are 3.85). However, the one I just rescued only paid 75.00 adoption fee for and he is in a wonderful loving home. I agree, price doesn't always mean that the baby will go to a good home.

Blues are always more expensive than greens...Not to mention that cage couldn't have been cheap. That being said...it seems like most people would pay $450 for a blue from a pet store or breeder, but not for one that already belongs to someone. It all comes down to how badly you need to re-home him. BTW, what size is the cage?

I'm glad that Crickett has found another home, I know it must have been a very hard decision for you. Emotions run very high because they are just like a child to us. But if you feel in your heart that you've done the right thing for the bird then that's all that matters.
Hugs.

[b]GREAT NEWS!Cricket's new mom picked him/her up today. I feel really good about this!
She (the new mom) has lots of bird experience and has taken in many rescues.
Cricket will be much happier and have lots of love plus many new friends.
She has 3 other quakers along with many other birds.
