I went at 10:00pm and didnt get home until 5:00am! Sadie got into a whole bunch of pork bones at a BBQ we went to this past saturday (they had enough pork to feed about 60 people) sadie found where they put all the bones and ate quite a few. i didnt think much of it at the time becasue I have always heard that dogs cannot have chicken bones but ive never heard anything about pork bones?!? well apparently dogs are not supposed to have ANY cooked bones at all...... she cannot hold anything down (even water) and is having severe diahrea(sp) they sent her home with a nausea shot and subcutaneous fluid and she sees our regular vet at 2:00 today. they wanted to keep her overnight but the bill on the low end was gonna be 681.00 (and i would have had to pay the low end estimate up front) and the high end 1150.00 and i just couldnt swing that
i will update with her progress later after she sees our vet. but remember
NEVER LET YOUR DOGS GET COOKED BONES OF ANY KIND!!!

Hope Sadie recovers quickly. Yes, cooked bones are a NO NO. I feed all raw diet to my dogs so any kind of raw bones are just fine. Here's the website if you'd like it. It really makes for a healthy dog.

Well your not going to believe this, on my way to the vet this afternoon I was in my first ever car accident!! long story short I was on the interstate in a construction zone (traffic was speeding up and slowing down at random times) the car in front of me slowed way down, no big deal i had plenty od distance to slow down.....I heard the most awful loud noise and looked in the rear view to see a car sliding toward me he tried to jump over in another lane but hit me in my new van
he was young (17) on his way to work, and was not paying attention and didnt have time to react before he hit me. this was his second accident that he was at fault in the past 6 months.....he was cited for failure to control his vehicle and improper lane change i was not cited for anything but i still pissed about my new van being smashed up.....All of my children where properly restrained in thier boosters and my youngest in her 5 point harness and me and the guy who hit me where buckled so we were all fine, just shock up...I had recently (2 weeks ago) had my kids carseats checked at the local fire dept. and im so glad i did now and i would recommend any of you with young children doing the same thing.....
ANYWAYS~ to Sadie due to the accident we were late but the vet understood and still saw us. He gave her more fluid, a whole bunch of barium(to help things pass easier) a diahrea pill, a nausea shot, and a rectal exam
she was not happy about that but he was able to pull some bones pieces out......if she does not vomit or have diahrea anymore tonight or tomrrow she will be started on a prescription food tomorrow evening and follow up with vet in a few days. if you does not improve overnight and/or throws up again she has to go back tomorrow.
If you made it this far thanks for reading!! and thanks for all the well wishes for Sadie she was a stray that showed up at our house about 6 years ago (we did not want a dog) but we fell in love with her and after trying to find her owners without success she joined our family and is now my lifeline! sometimes i tell people shes my kids nanny....LOL

How terrible -I'm glad no-one was hurt in the accident. I'm sorry about your new van though. I pray Sadie will have a speedy recovery. Someone was watching over you that's for sure. I will say a prayer for Sadie. Hugs to you and your family and Sadie...
