ok i have a quaker and a cockatiel and everytime i have the cockatiel out my baby Emma hangs on the side of her cage like she wants me to get her. I feel bad because i know she wants me but at the same time know that if I get her and i'm not careful, she'll attack my other baby. i've found that out before. but since i took her to the vet i've been spending lots of extra time with Emma and ignoring India i talk to Emma while i have the other baby but i feel bad about it. does Emma resent me for having the other baby out? i hope not anyone have any insights?

Yes, Emma is defenitely jealous and wants all the attention. It will always be like this. Quakers demand attention. Ripley is the same way. She will go after my lovebird or cockatiel when I am paying attention to them, or she'll get up in my face to take attention from them. Just make sure to give your cockatiel as much attention as you can because your quaker will always be trying to steal it.

You just need to spend equal time with each bird, maybe your birds are the kind that get a long. I am not so fortunate in that field. But I spend equal times with both of my birds........I have a quaker and a green cheek conure.

Pixie does that as well, when I have Sprite (a p'let) out. Naughty bird! But they get equal time out with us, so she just has to live with it. She gets plenty of out time when I get home, then the cats come up so everybody is in - then when the cats go down to bed, it's Sprite's turn for out. Pixie used to go to bed way before the cats, but now that she's adapted to our schedule a bit, she gets jealous of Sprite being out.

well it's good to know i'm not the only one with the problem! i try my best to spend equal time with them but i'm just one person and it's hard. things are getting better with it though Emma will just have to learn to deal with it she'll always be my baby and i'll always make sure she knows it!
