I wanted to share something with my fid friend.. I have reggy in his own cage with his own stand and i have a cherry head in his own cage and play stand...i have them in the living room and when i left the room and came back about 3 min.. Reggy the quaker was inside the cherry heads cage and the cherry was outside... as soon as i came back in i got reggy out but in the mist of that the cherry head came too me in a split second.. he must have not minded reggy in his cage.. i never let them go in each other cages or on top..
I kinda laughed to myself.. i think my little reggy just wanted company...
my simple question is.......will these two birds ever be buddy buddy?? or because of the cherry alittle bigger it will never be.......thanks s heilla

The only way to tell is to let them interact together WITH YOU RIGHT THERE to see how they get along. If they get along ok, you can let them have some supervised playtime to make SURE they'll be ok, then just let them play. Some fids will play together, some will just bicker. Mine play together just fine now, but it took awhile before I could let them play alone.

I'd be really hesitant on letting them interact. You're right in that the size difference is a big issue. Like Jo said, if you're adamant about trying it out, make sure you do it on a neutral area (back of the couch) and make sure you are right there to prevent anything from happening. If they seem to get along, I'd still never let them interact without you being there and absolutely no cage sharing.

Thanks everyone for their opinion.. its what i thought.. my quaker is very friendly and wants too play with my cherry head but sometimes the cherry head tends to me force full with pruning his head.. and i hear squak.. so i split them up... its funny take them out of the parlor in the kitchen or bedroom and they are so quiet and gentle.....the cherry head is still leary of me as i only got him a few months ago and him been 8 months old......only time will tell.....thanks again...........sheilla

The Quaker is more likely to be the one that is the agresser as conures usually will interact with other birds , just be with them and let then interact with supervision till you are sure , there will be a little beaking which is common when new birds get together they are establishing who is TOP BIRD..I would not cage them together ..
