I have always wanted to add a bird to the family (me, wife and 5 yr old son), and research led me here, and to the quaker.
I was looking for a smaller, cuddly, smart, and talkative bird, and quakers seem to be all that, and more according to everything you have all discussed here.
So I did some research, found a few breeders, and off I went to find the perfect little guy/gal. I visited a few diff breeders, last night I decided to take the plunge.
Introducing....Morgan (Green split with Blue (I think that is right terminology)

Last night after getting home, and the traumatic trip home in the box, he immediately "stepped-up" to my finger, we cuddled for a few minutes and then I introduced him to his new home (cage). He seemed to like it, looked around a bit, then just stared at me.
I put my hand in there, and he stepped up again, looked like he wanted to be with me more than in the cage...I figured this was good sign.
My wife got me a blueberry, and he ate that from my hand. (note to self, need more fresh fruits/veggies in the house)
We spent about an hour or so, just hanging out, and watching t.v. He crawled up, and snuggled in the crook of my neck, similar to how he would cuddle with his clutch mates, making little clicking/grinding noises with his beak.
After that, off to bed (for both of us).
I keep saying "him", but I have no idea. Breeder says he is about 10-11 weeks old, born mid-early April.
This morning, a short visit, and some fresh water, and I had to head off to work, I can't wait to get back home.
Look forward to being part of the community, and thank you for all the advice (even though you weren't aware that you gave it)
I think at lunch I will need to stop by Petsmart to get some more toys
