i do not have a quaker yet but am planning to get one for christmas hopefully so i am doing my research now

hate when people dont research before they get an animal(i work at a petstore so i see this all the time)

anyway for now i will mainly be looking at all the posts and trying to find all the answers i am looking for and when i get closer to the time of purchase i will ask any questions i cant find answers to or that i need further explaining to

anyway i do plan on getting one from a breeder or going to a bird show(i have been to reptile shows but never to a bird show so i think that would be soo exciting)

anyway this site seems really great and i cannot wait to find out everything i need to know before i get my adorable little quaker(i cant wait)

Good on you for doing your research first, I guess you see some sad sites in your line of work, don't worry xmas really isn't that far away and in the meantime you can always get organized and go shopping for you fid, so then you are all prepared, That's what I did, I had Tiki's cage/toys/stand for 5 months before I got him, it helped with the costs as well, just getting things abit at a time. wink.gif

Hii!!
I have owned an alexandrine parakeet and an african grey (both needed rehomed as parakeet was a bird bought out of my local paper and turned out to be a wild bird captured and sold as hand tame so he was released into a nice big avairy! and my lovely grey, charlie, unfortunatly turned on my 2 year old daughter for being my daughter sad.gif he is happy in a new home with a lovely mummy now! I now have a cockatiel who i have had for a year and he has bonded to one human...being me!! can be difficult but i love him!Yesterday i brought home a quaker!! and wow am i impressed! give me a quaker over a grey anyday! and thats coming from someone who loves greys and has always had them as a child!!!)
