Met with the breeder last weekend and saw a lot of different breeds of parrots but my heart is set on a Quaker. So we will be getting our little bundle of feathered joy in about 8 weeks time. So currently I've been shopping and setting up it's little home and toy shopping lol. I'm pretty much decided on this cage in white http://www.birdscomfort.com/arch_bird_cage.html
  • and will be ordering it next week.
But I did have a question for you all do you use the water dish that comes with the cage or does your bird use a water bottle as well as the dish? I keep seeing with a lot of web-sites with the water bottles for parrots and was curious as to who used them or not for Quakers. Oh and I'm making a list of possible names if anyone wants to throw some suggestions my way biggrin.gif

I use the stainless steel dishes , I do have a water bottle for th boys travel cage and I put a dish under it to catch the drips...
I prefer the dish as even if the water is in a bottle it needs washing out and clean water put in daily and I figure thats more of a hassle than a dish , I think its just a personal preference to each his own..
CONGRATULATIONS on your soon to be new baby...Love the cage ...(But I prefer Black or dark colour cages ..lol..thats just my choice too smile.gif

Nighty from downunder time for bed its cold sitting here ..
Have a good Friday ours is over...

Congratulations on the new baby!!! That waiting is a booger but well worth the wait. smile.gif

That's a nice cage. The arch top wouldn't work for Willie because he spends most of his time playing with his toys on top of his cage.

I personally wouldn't go to the trouble of keeping a water bottle clean and checking to make sure he hasn't crammed something in the tip.

Congradulations on your baby qp....i am also getting a baby in a week or so.. but right now i have a quaker and cherry head and they both use the water dish too drink and of course to bath.. i change the water a couple of times a day so it can stay clean.......they love to drop things in there.. food too toys you name it its in their... i have 3 cages from birds comfort.. 24x22x60 and it seems to be just right.. i have low ceiling so i get too hang things from the ceiling for them and i put lots of toys on top so when they get out they go up and play.... my cages are round on top.........good luck...............

my qp is named reggy after my father in law passed away from cancer
my cherry head is named scooby
my new baby qp no name yet???

good luck though
