MY LITTLE GIRL, CARTI IS DOING SOMETHING NEW. I HAVE OWNED HER FOR 6 MONTHS (SHE IS 10 YRS OLD)AND SHE HAS GONE THE GAMUT WITH BEHAVIORS THAT I HAVE TO KEEP UP WITH. I AM A FIRST TIME BIRD OWNER. JUST RECENTLY I WENT ON VACATION LEAVING MY BOYFRIEND AND THE ANIMALS TO THEMSELVES FOR ONE WEEK. ALL WAS NORMAL WHEN I CAME BACK EXCEPT THAT CARTI IS SITTING AT THE BOTTOM OF HER CAGE ON HER ROUND TOYS. SHE NEVER DID THIS BEFORE. SHE ALMOST SEEMS OBSESSED. SHE GETS UP AND EATS AND PLAYS LIKE NORMAL BUT IS SPENDING A LOT OF TIME ON HER TOYS. wacko.gif IS IT UNHEALTHY TO LET HER CONTINUE THIS BEHAVIOR? IS THIS NORMAL? OR IS SHE HUMPING? HELP ME OUT HERE GUYS.

I'm not sure about that one ... But I'd love to see the answer as well, so I'm bumping this up.

I have since caught her in the act and realized that she was humping the little toys. Carti was becoming obsessive so I changed the cage up and added some different toys that would keep her busy. She has overcome many obsessive behaviors, i.e., feather plucking and aggressive biting. I wanted to keep her busy and happy. Seems to be working. She has been more talkative and social. Thanks for the inquiry. wub.gif
