I wiped out on my bike and fractured my elbow. Have to get a cast this week and hopefully don't need surgery

Oh gosh, so sorry to hear that. Casts are no fun in the summer!! Hugs and prayers that you won't have to have surgery. I may have to share my middle name with you. Hubby says my middle name is Grace-less.

OUCH! sorry to hear about your fall. i haven't ridden in a LONG time. last time i did, i was trying to be cool and not put my feet down to stop, thought i would just grab a tree as i passed. instead i hit the darn thing and then fell over! my kid and her friend thought that was pretty funny, but it was actually pretty painful lol.

Ouch Thats no fun to have a cast. especially in the summer time. I had broke my finger an dhad a cast and it was during the summer time and i couldnt go swimming very easy. I can feel your pain there.

I have to wait until July 11 to see the ortho Dr and get a cast. Sometimes universal heath care sucks This sling is driving me crazy

See that's what I don't understand...and it happened with me when I broke my foot. You go to the emergency room...they xray and Yup definitely broken, then they send you home with soft cast or a boot or something and say see the orthopedic surgeon asap...but your supposed to wait a couple days for the swelling to go down. Then you call the Orthopedic surgeons office, they can't get you in for 2 weeks...Have they never had a broken bone...Sheesh...I know even with crutches I couldn't handle the pain So I called my own GP and they got me in and at least set it so it was imobilized. ARGH... If its broken and not in correct position, it can start to heal in that amount of time so you go through twice the pain when they have to rebreak it...

Makes no sense to me..

Hopefully you won't have that problem and all will heal nicely.

Don't take lots of anti inflammatories though cuz that does keep the bone from mending.

I prescribe two Molson's, and call me in the morning.

Bummer, I had a summer cast on my arm years ago. You find interesting ways to scratch the itches. Interesting tan lines too.
