Well, today was Booger's last day. My mom's terrier got him again, and this time it was fatal. My mom is besider herself, blaming herself and feeling like she let me down. She did everything she could to keep the dog away from the birds when Booger was out. The dog was outside. He managed to get in and got Booger in just less than two minutes. She is still so upset. She called to have Chester put to sleep. I since have convinced her to let me place Chester in a rescue with the stipulations that he go to a home where he will be the only pet, and have a fenced yard. The second is that if it should fail for any reason, she gets him back. She feels so bad for him too, because she's letting him down...she had him first. But he picks on all the other animals. It took a bit of talking, but I managed to pick him up and take him to the rescue. I didn't realize how much I really did like the little monster. So my mom has lost two fids in one day...how do I fix it? I feel so bad about Boog too. It's been a hard day. I offered to let her have Cash and Sindey, but she had to take them both...and she couldn't believe I would part with them. It's not like I'm really parting with them though, they'd be across the street and I could play with them anytime I wanted. I'd know exactly where they would be living...I wouldn't let them go to anyone else...and over time I'd end up with them back...LOL. SO please send warm fuzzies to my mom.

My condolences to you both---And very sorry to hear of the trauma that has happened...It can just happen so quickly and you feel like you're helpless not to be able to do anything...Yes, it is heartbreaking...Hope your pain will ease up soon.

I'm very sorry for you and your mom's loss. I'm glad you found a place for Chester. Even cute little yorkshire terriers were originally bred to go into the coal mines and kill rats bigger than them. He's not evil; he's just following instinct I'm sure. You're a gem.

you guys are the best! I tell you what it's been a rough couple of days. I offered to let Cash and Sidney go over to my mom's house to keep her company, but she decided not to do it...she's going to hold out for another Yellow Faced Amazon. I don't know if I'll be able to get her one...I just ordered a Doberman Pincher Puppy. That is another story I'll post in another section. BUT she is lonesome, but she knows she did the right thing by letting me put Chester into a rescue. She sure misses him and the Boog man though...He needs to be in a home w/o cats or birds, or bunnies, or anything smaller than him.

Missed this topic till just now. Poor little Booger. And poor Chester too. With some critters you just can't let em mingle. Hope Mom is feeling better.

She's still heart sick..but she's opened her home to two rescues already, a quaker (um, that's my fault) and a double yellow head (again, my fault) but so far she's doing well. Chester is in heaven at his new home! Mom still wants another Yellow Faced Amazon, but I have only found one breeder...we'll see how it goes. The same breeder we got Booger from. Thanks everyone for their kind words.

Thats great that she is opening her home for rescues...that will help her mend faster. Also, hope you can find her another Yellow Face..not sure I have seen one so am going right now to check them out...

Man, Andie, I'm sorry I missed this post until now... I know how your mom is feeling and I am so so sorry for her loss! Glad she's opened her home and heart for the rescues and is ready to get another double yellow.

i cant help but avoid this section of the forum for the most part.. your story and katies just break my heart... so sorry.. and sorry for not seeing this months ago.

Sorry for you and your mom's losses...poor boog, but at least you have things under control and it sounds like your mom is keeping busy with her little rescues.

Thanks guys! i really do appreciate it! My mom currently has two rescues, a double yellow head amazon "Caesar" and a new quaker "Paddywhack". She is still longing for another yellow faced amazon...so I hope to get her one soon.
