huh.gif WHAT IS THE BEST TEMPERATURE TO KEEP THE ROOM THAT MY BABY IS IN? I HAVE HEARD DIFFERENT OPINIONS ON THIS ONE AND WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE CORRECT TEMP FOR CARTI. AIR CONDITIONING BAD? HMMM...

Quakers are able to adapt to very different temperatures as they live wild in the heat of Texas and Florida and the freezing cold of New York in the winter time (in the snow!). As long as the temperature is fairly consistent and doesn't make a drastic change, they should be okay. wink.gif We keep our house at ~68*F in the winter and ~74*F in the summer and Casey does fine. Air conditioning is great as long as they aren't in the direct stream of the air. smile.gif

Others should be around shortly to add their thoughts! smile.gif

The general rule of thumb I follow is if I'm comfortable they're comfortable. If I feel extremely cold then I bump up the heat. In summer Charlie can tolerate more heat than me so he's okay there too. cool.gif Air conditioning is not bad. Just make sure the unit or the vents are not pointed at him so there's no draft.

I got oatis at 7 weeks and i just keep my house warm enough for me and my little girl and he is fine! he does have a cosy house type thing in his cage that has a pocket in the side with a thing i microwave so its hot and i shuv that in at night but he doesnt bother going to the heat so i think as long as the heat is ok for us then its ok for them! tough little fellas our quakers!!

Hi guys,

I found Apples in a park in Chicago, and this place is absolutely freezing. The fact that Quakers are breeding in the wild here is amazing. I think having your AC on is fine, I try to keep it no colder than 70 degrees here, and Apples seems very comfortable.

BTW: Welcome to the Forum, I'm new also and I love it here!
