Just curiosity, sometimes when Boris is perched on my finger his feet are hot, other times they are not. Does this mean anything ?
HAVE A BLESSED 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!
THANK YOU LORD FOR THE SOLIDERS THAT FIGHT

Birds use their feet as a way to regulate their temperature. Because they have no sweat glands, when they get too warm, they expel heat through their feet and beak. Warm/hot feet can also be a sign of a happy birdie

louie's feet are always warm at nite nite time. i like to think it's one way i can tell he's ready to go to bed because most of the other time his feet aren't warm when i pick him up.

i'm glad i re-read this. it is pretty humid here, and hot even at 9 pm, and we were hanging out on the porch. well, with the birdy boys out we can't run the ceiling fans, and the stand fan is pretty ineffective lol. and i staunchly refuse to go inside unless there's obvious problems with the birds - it's summer dangit. when i was getting my booger sugars (louie kisses), his beak was hot. hot face = uh oh in human terms normally, so i was a little concerned lol.
