Well...my neighbor wanted to get rid of her wild caught DNA female Quaker so we have her here and I'm wondering what the procedure is to introduce her to our 9 y/o DNA male? We have the cages side by side now so they can see and hear each other. He's a spoiled baby and she has not had much human interaction, no toys, one perch. sad.gif We have had 3 birds, all of which were acquired as babies so have never dealt with an older untamed one before. I welcome help!! huh.gif Poor Squawky has been lonesome since our older cockatiel passed away so I think he'll be happy for the company. Our other bird is a DNA female military macaw. They have all been making a happy racket this afternoon!

Thanks in advance!

I'm curious what you mean by introduce? If the cages are already side by side then they are 'introduced'...if you mean put them in the same cage? I'm not sure but I think the steps are still the same..side by side cages until they begin spending more time next to each other than apart...then (and you do this even if they stay in seperate cages) supervised play time (out at the same time on playstands)...my Quakers are side by side in cages and they can be out at the same time under supervision.
Hope that helped some. Jo
