hello everyone i have been writing into the forum about my new baby he is 5 weeks old and growing so much already i cant believe it he is walking better and starting to make noise and eating good he is also staying awake for longer hours, today i took out my cockateil luey and put them in front of eachother my louie was curious, and sort of like whatever and my baby quaker started hissing at him and lunging at him luckily he can't move fast, i thought it would be the other way around, and he acts funny when i hold him sometimes, like hes afraid of falling if i don't hold him cupped in my hand, is this normal reaction for a baby and does anyone have any recommendations on the two getting to know eachother, i was hoping one they will be friends louey is only 9 months old and has such a nice personality.

At five weeks old, it's normal for him to hiss at somebody he doesn't know. In the wild, he would still be in the nest and would hiss and threaten anybody who wasn't siblings, mom or dad.
It's also normal for a five week old to be a little bit afraid of heights. He hasn't fully developed his perching skills.

while it's understandabe a baby would try to scare off an intruder, i would like to add that you can't assume your little green baby will grow to be a docile being. they can be mean little buggers towards other birds, so don't let your guard down when the 2 are out together, or if there's a chance they will be able to interact physically.
do you have any pics??
