Hi everyone just thought i post a quick thought....I recently brought home a weaned qp....his name is ollie......dna not known...since having him home. i see him all the time flapping his winds and sitting on his perches, through out the cage inside.. he even sits in his food bowls.. when i go and see him and rub his head he takes out his beak as he is drinking from my fingers...its the cutest thing...he even likes to cuddle on my chest..i take him off and he hops right back on..

how long does the little qp flapp for?? I have another quaker from a breeder last year and he never flapped liked this...but they are the cutest.. almost like momma i am right here...and he eats all the time which is a good thing.. Just wondering how long he does this or all qp ask this for the first 6 months.. i had another qp but not sure if he was alittle older and grew out of this.. thanks for your help..

He's just testing his wings and exercising, which is a good thing, I like to encourage my birds to flap their wings because it helps with their respiratory system and helps keep things flushed out so to speak.

Newly weaned babies are so cute because they are so curious and scared at the same time. Glad you are enjoying this little new one. I have an Ollie quaker as well, but its a female. Eggs to prove it! wink.gif

Thanks ladies for the responces, its so excited to see these birds developing...the other thing i noticed is its always makeing bird noises, even when i get him out of thecage.. my other birds get lounder if i take him out of the room, and the baby qp flappes the hole time, hoping maybe this little guy will be a talker and can get the others to hop on too the talkative stage...i talk to each one seperatly all the time.. the first one is the first bird of course but the others get all excited before their turn almost like kids, talk to me talk to me i am banging my toys for attention.. its the cutest thing... keep you informed thanks again......sheilla
