A few weeks ago, my landlord pointed out that we had a mourning dove nesting in the pine tree near our stairs, she appeared to be sitting on eggs. I would stops and say hi to her as I came up and down the stairs, and she would just stare at me. We started getting concerned last week, sine she had been sitting on the nest for such a long time and we hadn't seen any babies apear yet, but that day I cam home and managed to catch her away from the nest and in the nest was this sweet little brown fuzzball, all down and pinfeathers...probably the cutest baby bird I have seen since we brought home our MBC. So every day I have been keeping an eye on the nest, our landlord had already elected me to take in the little guy if something happened to his parents, and today when I came home from work there he was sitting on the edge of the nest, no longer a fluffball, he has almost all his feathers now, and looks almost ready to leave the nest, which from my research, he should be starting to do in another week or so. Well, just wanted to share that with you all, it's fun to see stories about other's experiences, so I thought I'd share one of mine.

Oh you are so fortunate to have that close-up encounter! I love doves. I used to have a pair that popped babies out constantly (way back when). Good for you!
God's creation is so awe-inspiring, isn't it?!

Don't you just LOVE the sound of mourning doves?? I have 2 pair that hang out in my yard all the time. It would be neat to see them with little families. I bet the baby is adorable

and how exciting to watch it grow up!

I just checked on them, mom is sitting on the nest, but the baby is poking his head out. I'm going to try to take some pictures later, I don't want to scare the mom too bad. My dad stole some of my MBC's nutriberries and put them on a plate on the stairs. I don't know if the mom will touch them, but it's worth a try, a little treat for her if she does eat them. If I can get som good pictures, I will post them
