My step father and I recently put together a playgym out of PVC piping, and now we're on the fine tuning stage.

I just have a question...

The PVC has black ink on it, saying who makes it and bar codes and such. I just wanna know, is that safe for the bird?

I remember reading rubbing Alcohol works on getting it off, however I've been trying for an hour to get it off of one pipe with no luck. Also, we're gonna sand it to give the pipe a rough surface, so I guess it wouldn't matter much, right? Or should I try to get it off before sanding it?

Thanks for your help! I'll post pictures once we get it fully finished.

I washed our PPVC really well in a vinegar solution and then I sanded it down to create the grip. Sanding should take the black writing right off the piping... quite easily actually. wink.gif

Happy building! biggrin.gif

Cool thanks...
What grit should I use for the sand paper? Cause I have 120, should I get 200?

I don't think it really matters... the rougher the sand paper the easier it would be I guess... the 120 should be fine, you just might have to work a little harder. biggrin.gif (I'm pretty sure I used 100 and it worked okay!)

Cool, thanks!
I'll do it tomorrow, reattach it and take some pics for everyone, haha.

After that, just gotta find a way to get the Ladders to stay attached...
