Hello I am new here and I wanted to ask a question I havent seen any where on the web...
Can a Quaaker Parrot eat a "Nature Valley Peanut Butter Bar"?
On a lot of websites I have heard people say that you should share your favorite health snack with your Quaker and I eat 2 or 3 of these a day and I wanted to know if my soon-to-be Quaker can eat some of it....

No, I really wouldn't feed your Quaker a Nature Valley Peanut bar. Firstly they are loaded with sugars and other things that your Quaker shouldn't be eating and secondly peanuts are extremly high in fat and IMO shouldn't really be fed to Quakers unless it's a once in a while treat. There are lots of other healthy choices... almonds slivers, pumpkin seeds, Heinz baby rice crackers (they are just puffed rice, nothing else), veggies, etc.

Welcome!

Hello,
Welcome to the forum.
I don't really know about the Nature Valley Peanut Butter Bar. I guess it depends on the amout of sugar or other stuff in it that may not be good. A little could be ok? Maybe someone will be along to help out more with this.
Whats your quarkers name? How old is it? How long has your anut had the bird?

OK I wont give it any., my aunt has had it roughly a year and she got it from her twin who had it for 2 years. so I am guessing around 3 years old. I dont know its name yet and I am a boy not a girl.....

I would say that if its just a tiny piece one in a while then that's probably not going to hurt him/her but I wouldn't be giving it a whole lot of it or one of its own wink.gif . There is lots of sugars and preservatives etc in that type of thing that really aren't good for the bird. So I would really keeep it to a minimum.

And NEVER give anything to your bird that you have had in your, Not even just bitten off. Its best to break or cut off a piece that hasn't been in contact with your teeth or lips etc. The bacteria in a human mouth can make your bird very ill if not cause him to die.

its all righ
so I can give the Quaker a little bit every once in a while?

I wouldn't. There are lots of other options in the way of treats to offer. Treats are better if they're all natural. No salts, sugars or preservatives. It takes up room in the fridge, but it's worth it in my opinion.
